IAC will be Landon first GP second SSSA third. Bank it |
Some want a scrimmage championship some don’t |
Naw excuses SSAS is a top three DMV team |
| Uhm not the case Gonzaga didn’t pull back those are just dumb comments from a defensive position good luck this season. |
SSAS has absolutely no threats on offense |
d1 coaches disagree |
I think I'll take the 7/8 D1 commits vs the 4, and those are just in the 2024 class. |
|
Gonzaga struggling with SSSA yesterday is a bit concerning.
Historically the Eagles have always dominated this early season scrimmage. Eagles better be ready this week for McDonogh! |
| Gonzaga overrated as usual |
Agree |
What was the score at half? |
| On another note, DeMatha is in for a long season. They got creamed by St Paul’s on Saturday. The non-recruiting by Dave Mitchell is apparent in the non-depth of this team. Most importantly, the offense is horrible. It really looks like everyone on offense is playing tight, the offense is slow, and the scheme was found on YouTube. One of the worst offenses I have ever seen. Do not even get me started on their clear. I think the team was playing defense for the first five minutes with the offense having only one possession. Matt Miller needs to find an OC fast, and I think he is over his head. Maybe stick to coaching goalies. First, he might need to check his ego. I think the Athletic Director at DeMatha Ed King made another bad hire. What head coaching did Miller have. I would not be surprised that after the 2025 class graduates, DeMatha Lacrosse falls all the way to the bottom of the WCAC. |

Neutral Observer Pre-season Top 10 (March 4th)
1. Georgetown Prep - until proven otherwise, the Lil Hoyas remain as the cream of the crop. Will their offense be able to replace the firepower of Burns and Kabari who are already putting up big numbers as freshmen at Princeton? Hoyas defensive front will be tough to beat. 2. St. Johns - the Cadets continue to show sustained success under Wes Speaks and aren't afraid to play the nation's best. The Cadet's first 5 games are brutal. Who steps up in goal with the graduation of Big Tasty, can they dominate the face-off X with Weller gone? Will Dunkel return by the start of the WCAC tournament? Expect some new faces to emerge in the Cadets 2026 class. 3. Landon - The Bears will have offensive depth this Spring with most of its offense returning and the return of Kevin Miller after missing all of last year due to injury. Will Landon learn to play as a team like they did down the final stretch of last spring or will "hero ball" continue to plague this team? Who steps up at defense? 4. Gonzaga - the Purple Eagles are put together in all areas of the field this Spring and have the athletes to run with any program across the county this Spring but can they play as a "team"? Can the Eagles play with discipline? Who replaces their goalie from last year? Will this be King's final year? 5. Bullis - Bellistri's Bulldogs will be a darkhorse in the IAC with arguably the top 2025 in the country. Can Jackson Mahar replace the firepower of Band (UVA) and Wade (Princeton)? Can the 2025 defense provide enough protection for the Bullis keeper a Cuse commit? 6. PVI - New coach, new era of PVI lacrosse. Will the Panthers be able to fill the graduation holes from their 2023 class? The Loudoun County boys continue to prove they have the horses to compete with the area's best programs. 7. St Stephens - the 2023 season was a down year for the Saint's lofty expectations, who return the majority of their roster from last spring. While the Saints are one of the best-coached programs in the area, do they have enough offensive firepower to run with the top teams in the IAC? 8. St. Albans - the 2023 STA graduating class was overhyped. The Bulldogs have some pieces in their 2025 class and always find a way to upset someone at the top of the IAC. Can they generate enough offense this Spring? 9. Episcopal - the Maroon had one of their best seasons in recent memory last Spring. Who replaces Deringer's (UVA) scoring ability on offense? Who replaces Jameison (starting goalie at Duke) between the pipes? One thing is certain, Conklin's teams are always well-coached. 10. Good Counsel - Year two for the Falcons under Dane Smith. A few transfers arrived over the summer months. Look for Good Counsel to crack the top 4 this year in the WCAC. While this program is heading in the right direction, depth will likely be an issue. I will update these rankings on Monday, March 18th after we've had two weeks of results. Feel free to tear them apart
