Really Fun Restaurant for Kids 3-4 yo

Anonymous
I'm looking for a fun place to take the 3-4 year old kids for dinner. It doesn't have to have any redeeming value for adults as long as they will have a good time. The ONLY thing I would like is for it not to be a pizza place, because we do that enough already and I have plenty of those restaurants.

Any ideas?

Japanese Hibachi?

Rock Bottom (Bethesda) has "MAKE your own pizza."

Rio Grande - tortilla machine always a big hit

There is a pirate restaurant in silver spring.

Silver Diner -- bonus that they have a very good (and healthy) kids menu.
We also like Austin Grill and (gasp!) Red Lobster.

Austin Grill in Silver Spring has John Henry performing a few evenings a month - he's a singer/guitar player for kids.

Wasabi - revolving sushi bar in Tyson corner mall. My kids love it.

Where are you? Bugaboo Creek restaurant in Rockville/Gaithersburg is fun for that age. It's like Rainforest Cafe but not as cool. And it's an Alaskan hunter themed restaurant. Totally not my thing, but my 4 year old LOVES the talking moose, raccoon, bass fish, and other weird characters that talk and move every once in a while.

I would like to second the new Silver Diner in Rockville. We went last week and I was VERY impressed by the children's menu. It was healthy, diverse and fun. There is nothing that is especially "really fun," but it has juke boxes, balloons and the obligatory menu with games and crayons.

My kids love Silver Diner on kids night. There is a guy making balloon animals and the place is filled with kids.

My 3yo is STILL traumatized from Bugaboo Creek. We had to take her out and sit outside while everyone else ate. She screamed whenever any of the animals talked. We went when she was 2.5 and she is still talking about it. Anytime we go to a restaurant that she is not familiar with, she freezes and says, is this the moose restaurant? My then-5yo enjoyed it, but just a heads up.
