I'm skeptical that this will last, because they're celebrities, but I'm WAY more skeptical about it lasting hearing that they're moving in together.

Alcoholism is an addiction and it runs in families. It is well known that he dad was an alcoholic too. Given that he is in Hollywood where the temptation and ease to obtain anything he wants, the fact that he is trying to be sober is quite a challenge. And as far as cheating goes, there were rumors about both Jen Garner and Ben being cheaters at one time or another. They both still seem like they care about their kids.

Being an alcoholic says nothing about how much you love your kids. It’s complex and not just a game of willpower.

It’s a beautiful house and it makes sense that they’re taking that step considering they previously lived together and were getting married. They’re not a new couple

NP. I'm sure he cares about his kids, but so do a lot of people....not really a selling point. I wouldn't group him with other alcoholics trying to get better. He also had a terrible gambling addiction. He's dated several early 20s women when he was in his 40s knowing it would go nowhere. He's a celeb that is rarely told no, and rather than use the resources available to him to get help he continues to skate by.

After hearing the interview on Howard Stern, I'm doubtful he is actually sober. Something was off in that interview. It's possible he was slurring his words and talking manically due to prescription drugs that help with other issues he might have, but something seemed off.

^You need to watch that again. He doesn't slur at all in that interview.

I'm loving the news about the ring and the positive buzz it's generating for the couple. For weeks it's been mostly nonsense about what Ben's ex thinks about this and that aspect of the relationship. Ben's clearly moved on, she needs to do the same.
