Not surprised by GC at all. Well deserved.
|
| What about SJC, PVI and BI for WCAC selections? |
| When your closest conference game is a 9-goal win, you should dominate the post season awards. Well deserved. I guess we have to wait for the other schools to post theirs. |
. Yes, they did, and what an outstanding Maryland suburban team they are. But they still aren’t a DC area team. |
Can you then outline exactly what is DC area? Give us specific cities, etc. so we have an exact definition of DC area. Maybe draw a map? Since you clearly have a strong opinion on it. |
| we have a new winner in the dumbass, not thinking, crapping on people comment category! Questioning, if a team that is a member of the Washington Catholic athletic conference has a right to be considered a team from the Washington area. I wouldn’t have been able to even generate that in my brain as an argument. More pure gold! |
Ignore him. It's the same guy who's been sh!tting on GC all spring. The school originated in Wheaton but moved to Olney for more land. Similar move for PVI. |
Not the geography Nazi, but I think the point on GC and now to an even greater extent PVI, is that they just aren't front of mind for most DC and close in suburbs parents considering where to send their kids to school. If I were to draw the circle: DC, Arl, Alx, FFX (but not past Flint Hill and Madeira), Montgomery (but not past Bullis) and PG (but not more than a few miles outside the beltway) |
Of course girls who live in Bethesda, Potomac, or Chevy Chase most likely will not attend GC because of logistics...but to say GC isn't a Washington DC area school because it's in Olney is flat out ridiculous. Of the 14 girls named to the All WCAC team, 10 are Montgomery County residents. |
| Changes coming at St. John’s? |
Coaching or players |
Via the grapevine sounds like the SJC head coach will not be returning as coach. |
Rumor was flying around during the season too. If true, it’s honestly for the best. |
| As an SJC parent, we love our coach. We had another successful season and made it to our first ever WCAC championship. Like last year, we are losing some fantastic seniors, but every team does. Returning players are playing club this summer and will continue to improve. The future is bright for us. Let the haters keep on hating while we keep on grinding. |
Sounds like your experience is very different from DD’s friends. |
