Not the pp, but no it absolutely is not. It means people shouldn’t have to wade through peoples posts just to prove a point to an anonymous moron on the job internet. If you want proof, do it yourself. I just took a glance at the togetheragainmcps Twitter and their most recent post is about “MD will NEVER catch up. kids may never catch up. We are frightened.” Never catch up? Really? Because they had to attend school online for a year? Sounds exactly like fear mongering to me. Also, the next time someone tells you to do your homework, realize you’re just a lazy person who can’t be bothered to educate yourself.

Actually it's "And the map is quite revealing too. MD so behind (driven by MCPS) and will never catch up. Our kids may never catch up. We should be outraged and frightened."

I don't like the group, but you should quote their tweets correctly.

Not the pp, but it's called paraphrasing...nothing they said changed the meaning or the context. Don't be pedantic.

It's not called paraphrasing when you put it in quotation marks. Also, "We are frightened" and "we should be outraged and frightened" mean different things.

Try educating yourself. If you use some words from the original text along with your own words, you need to use quotation marks, which is exactly what the poster did. The people who need to be back in school clearly aren’t the kids- my 6th grader knows this.

What? No. Quotation marks are for the original text - the actual words.

For example, Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, "So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself."

NOT Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, "I believe that fear is the only thing we need to fear."
