Norwich, CT?

NP. This is my hometown and I can’t believe there’s someone else who knows about that place!

West Baltimore hasn't been safe in a looooooooooong time.

The outer edges of Wichita are so damn depressing. So flat with no trees and not in a cool desert kind of way.

You obviously don’t understand the post...name a specific town, not an entire state. You look kind of stupid.

Ahhh, gotta love white privilege!

I still live in the area and drove through the campus last week and loved the beautiful architecture. I guess age changes your perspective.

PP, for creepy factor, check out the abandoned Crownsville Hospital in Anne Arundel County. I drive by it frequently. Sometimes, there are vultures lined up on the edges of the buildings. Chills me to the core.

I had a similar experience in rural Alabama on the way to Florida. We were on a deserted county road and had to stop for gas at a dilapidated shack that had only 1-2 pumps. I was so creeped out. This was in the 1990s before cell phones, too. Yikes.

You’ve never been black driving through these places.

Oh wow I’ve been to Montserrat after the volcano too! Everything was covered in a thick layer of grey ash. It definitely looked like a ghost town (or island).

I feel like bleak and creepy are very different vibes from reading these answers. They sometimes overlap but often not.

Isn’t that where Michael Jackson was from?

Yes. I think it had an economy when he was a child.

They stopped and stared at us as we drove through town.

Now that was creepy.

😳

I kind of see your point but driving through these entire states while black would be an entirely different topic though.
