They immediately filled and the irnerim superintendent send an email to be patient because they don’t know when they’ll get more or how many and this is not in the scope of a school system. People who hot first shots this week can now not set up their appointment for the second because it’s unclear if or when we will have them.

This presents the issue then of so they send us all back when metrics drop even if many might not have their vaccine yet? Or do they hold off til we have? I don’t blame them for the vaccine rollout , it’s not their fault, but it presents an issue when some but not all teachers may have gotten theirs by the time they want to send us back. Mid March is hopeful for both. But we’ll see.

Although we're all just guessing, I do think the vaccines will pick up again soon and the pace will keep increasing.

Yes, the county will begin phasing hybrid in again as soon as the metrics drop below the threshold. Having some teachers with and some without the vaccine does NOT present an issue or hurdle for returning to hybrid learning. Vaccines were not factored in to those decisions, and the fact that some teachers will have been vaccinated is a bonus on top of all of the safety and health measures already in place. Let's not forget that and suddenly move the line based on vaccinating every teacher.

The hell it doesn't. LOL.

But feel free to jump in there as an unvaccinated substitute teacher, Mom!

Vaccines.

What? Kids won't be vaccinated until God knows when and teachers/staff may be, but the majority of adults in kids' homes and those with whom they wil have contact with in the community won't be vaccinated until at least the summer, maybe early fall. Again, more contagious and higher spread variants.

Then the kids can stay home. I think you should accept they are definitely voting tonight to reopen hybrid. Staff are prepared for this. I 100% understand the families that choose to remain distance for safety but they are going to reopen.

I don’t think tonight’s decision is dependent upon vaccines or positivity. Hope they voted quickly and are done with it.

Why is RTS always at the end of the agenda? Everyone is exhausted by them time the topic comes up.

Correct. Vaccines are nice to have, the plan never depended on them. Same with metrics. Lower is better but with school based metrics it’ll be on individuals at schools to practice mitigation to keep their school open. The plan is going to pass.

FCPS school board just voted in favor of the return to school plan. This should put the pressure on LCPS.

Also Beth Barts mentioned there is significant pressure to return because of giving teachers priority vaccine access.

They’ve been saying this for weeks. We as staff have been told this plan is actually going to happen. There is no question it will pass tonight.

Huh? Kids are, by far, the least impacted group (health-wise) from COVID.

Told by whom? The principal? And how do they know how the board will vote?
