Anyone feel judged if they shop at a white owned business instead of black owned right now?

Lowe's is one of them, and during the protests, Lowe's ceo ellison put out a personal statement about growing up black in the south and about investing in minority business.

*And they're all men of course but that's a separate issue

Most of the profits a Fortune 500 doesn't go to the CEO. It goes to shareholders. Anyone can buy their stock on the open market. Just about any person, regardless of race, probably has stock in all the fortune 500 if they have money invested for retirement.

Yes of course. This was in reference to one piece of why Lowes vs Home Depot ended up in the news during BLM.

Well, Lowes is terribly run, so that's unfortunate. Over a period of two years I decided to try them out. I ordered two different samples to pick up in store (a piece of exterior siding and and a hardwood floor sample). I also ordered a power washer from them to be shipped to my house and washer/dryer. None of it worked out. Both times I drove down to pick up the sample, I ended up waiting at the counter at the entrance for 45 minutes or so while employees fumbled around looking for the order - they were never able to find the product that had been marked as shipped and received, twice in a row. The power washer arrived at my house in a state that had obviously been unpacked and repacked and had parts missing. I ordered a replacement and it showed up broken inside the package. The washer/dryer I ordered that were marked as in stock were e-mailed as "backordered" several days later after they had already scheduled the delivery.

I was able to easily fix all these issues switching to home depot. I have at least received my orders on time and undamaged, unlike from Lowes.

She asked if I had missed her FB post about black owned businesses in our town. I said I hadn’t but I knew exactly what I needed and that they had it based on their Instagram. She just said” hm” and moved on.

Tonight I was talking with my neighbor and mentioned where we got takeout food from yesterday. She said they got food from ABC and were only supporting black and minority owned places for the foreseeable future.

It seems so fake to me but are others really doing this?

My God, the virtue signaling. Your neighbor sounds insufferable. And anyone who thinks/acts like her.

At the beginning of the stay at home order, I ordered sth for next day delivery from Lowes. Never received it, even several days later, and eventually had to cancel (which they did without a problem). Home Depot - next day delivery always arrives on time, including for those items. So I am not sure what I am expected to do...
