This article made me think of this thread. It’s a good history of how we got here. Remember, Trump is not an aberration - he is the natural culmination of what Republicans have been doing for decades. It’s why I get so irritated at those Lincoln Project people. They may not have voted for Trump but they are part of the history responsible for putting him in power. They are grifting now just like they always have.

Things were so much better when we were under lockdown and the alternative economy was developed. A great example of American ingenuity! People got products they needed via Amazon, Peapod, USPS and so on. We learned to thrive as a country in a different way when the virus was being held at bay.Thanks to House Dems, people paid their bills and stayed in their homes and apartments thanks to well meaning stimulus infusions.

Now, the Rethugs are throwing it all away so that people can go to a bar, or head to Disney. Hello People - the ECONOMY WAS FINE UNDER LOCKDOWN!!!! Rethugs aee making it worse so they can blame the Dems, but we know better. This is why Biden/Harris is the winning tocket this year

The Democrats wanted to shut everything down back in the spring. This was based in science and would prevent the spread of covid, taking pressure off our medical workers and hospitals, and allow the government time to develop contract tracing, get enough PPE for frontline staff, let everyone get enough masks, etc.

But in his infinite subordination to Vladimir Putin, he didn’t do any of that. In fact, he’d disbanded the Pandemic Response Team left by predecessors so the Trump Regime, already not very bright people to begin with, were flying blind.

And so here we are, with GOP morons pretty much going about their business as normal while the rest of us try to stay home as much as possible and certainly away from crazy people who like to play Russian roulette with this “hoax.” Death cult.

The economy wasn’t “fine,” and it’s incredibly insensitive and ignorant of you to say so. But the economy would have been better had the GOP not just given more handouts to overseas corporations and billionaires and their friends (as much as you can say that demons have friends) but had instead provided more aid to those who needed it.

It also would have been fine if Donald Trump weren’t a traitor bent on creating more chaos for his master Putin. Imagine if we had been warned about this virus in December! Imagine if tests had been available, along with the expectation that if you got sick, you could get tested and stay home and if everyone had just masked up as a precaution! Imagine a world in which the GOP hadn’t stolen two elections in the last 20 years....

I did say that a thriving alternative economy was developing early on when we were locked down and attacking this virus the way we should have. But I’m not surprised.
