There's lots of Twitter speculation about this but absolutely no real ideas. Completely opaque.

But essentially someone is fighting a summons, right?

This should have it's own thread so DCUM legal folks can chime in about how incredibly rare and unusual this is.

Government was representing the defense - so it is not Don. Jr. It could be Ivanka, Jared or Pence...

Perhaps telling, a notation in the legal docket said only 9 of the court's 10 active judges participated today — Judge Greg Katsas, a Trump appointee who worked on the Russia probe while serving in the White House, had recused himself.

Sealed v sealed, and clearing out the floor. And undercover entry. Pretty crazy.

What time was this? And where were the cast of characters during that time. Not that we could know lol of them—they move around privately for good reason. But does anyone have an alibi that definitely was not there?

The fact they sealed off the entire 5th floor is unprecedented. It's got to be a subpoena of Trump. That former WH counsel wouldn't recuse for anything else.

The case was filed on August 16. The day before, on August 15, Giuliani said, “We would move to quash the subpoena,” Giuliani said in an interview. “And we’re pretty much finished with our memorandum opposing a subpoena.”
