Idiotic post. Girls VDA move happened last year. Boys ecnl is a joke, and adding loudoun isn't going to help any because all their top players are going to leave. At best we can say the partial DA experiment isn't working out, because as much as it makes sense from a big picture perspective (pyramid), it may not from the perspective of the individual clubs. Remains to be seen. |

^ who will be in the quasi league? VDA and Loudoun boys went to ECNL. So now they will be in a league they mocked other teams for playing in?
But more importantly, can they still call themselves a “DA team”? I know that’s really important to Arlington parents
I think Club DA is done. There isn’t going to be an expansion in 2 years. |
| Who is going down with the sinking ship? There will be so many coach and player shake ups this Spring. |
VDA boys didn't go to ECNL, just Loudoun. |
Yet... |
Nice try, they didn't get turned down for a full DA, already have it. |
so true. Lots of rising sophomores now eligible.
|
| Are there really any decent players who care about HS soccer these days? Their dads may, but the players, really? |
Its very big at private schools. Several DA players have come back to play Senior year at our public HS. |
don't be so sure......MLS teams will likely drop and make DA just like the boys ECNL |
| It will all change when the MLS teams drop. |
Is that happening next year? I keep hearing rumblings. |
Rumor: U13's boys DA to drop for 2020-21 season like U12s did. Rumblings: MLS to split or form their own league to play more internationals, other tournaments. |
Highly doubt it. Wouldn't make sense for the MLS teams. Too much travel. Much more likely the DA will just make whatever changes MLS wants. My guess is we'll see 1st & 2nd divisions within the DA, with pro-rel for non-MLS teams but MLS teams guaranteed 1st division status. Not saying that would be fair, but it would best serve the interests of the MLS, and that's kind of what US Soccer does. |
International teams come here for tournaments in the summer or during holiday breaks, but the idea that they are touring the US looking for competition during the league seasons is a fallacy. They are busy with their own league play during the season. |
