Public School Event Held at Private Swim Club - Is this allowed?

Anonymous
If the event is advertised only to swim club members, isn't posted on school website, and isn't advertised by the PTA, how is it a public school event?

It sounds to me as if it is a swim club member event. If it is a private swim club, then members have paid their dues to join the club and enjoy the club events. They host events to allow members to socialize and to recruit members. If the event is that attractive, it may be a cue to join the club.

Also, if it is a private swim club, there also are a number of legal reasons why it might not be willing/able to open an event up to the entire community.

Most PTAs have some type of back-to-school event. That's the one that should be open to all.

+1- People can have a get together where ever they want! Exactly it is for those who belong to the pool and happen to go to the same school- this has nothing to do with the rest of the school population. Why do you people on here care so much about what others do with their own time & money?? it is not a school funded event period. Get over it.

People can have a get-together wherever they want. And other people can criticize them on grounds that they consider the get-together inappropriate.

This swim club also serves a lot of students from another early public school and there was no event for that school. The pool didn’t orchestrate this event. It was the pta.
