Please note who said there were anti-Clinton FBI agents in the NYC--Comey. How did he know this? Is there evidence of this? Is it just possible that the agents were concerned that there were classified emails on the laptop of a pedophile? |
Nope. Clearly you are determined to remain willfully ignorant on this topic. As the article says, Weiner's laptop was found on Sept. 26, 2016. I have posted video in this thread of Nunes saying he was told about the laptop "in late September". Guiliani has talked about receiving leaks around the same time. That means the leaks occurred almost immediately. You are fixated on the fact that the FBI didn't investigate the laptop during October and using that delay to justify the leaks by the NYC FBI office. For reasons that I can't explain, you ignore that the leaks happened before the delay. You are using the October delay as a post hoc justification, but that simply doesn't make sense. Maybe there should not have been a delay in investigating the laptop and maybe FBI agents should have been concerned about that delay and maybe those concerns could have justified leaks. But, that's not the actual scenario that occurred. What actually happened is that there were immediate leaks that provoked Comey to write his letter to Congress which ended up making the existence of the laptop public. As a result, the leaking FBI agents had a significant impact on the election that harmed Clinton. |
Are you suggesting that pro-Clinton FBI agents immediately leaked news of the laptop to Nunes? The existence of anti-Clinton FBI agents has been known for years. Do a little Googling and you will find far more sources than Comey. |
I am 'fixated' on the fact that Slate and other publications DO see a delay by Comey. |
You are fixated on leaks rather than WHY those leaks might have occurred. Are you at ALL concerned with the FBI's clearing of Clinton prior to even interviewing her? My guess is no. You are fixated on THIS part of things because you are upset that she didn't get away with breaking the law. If you feel the way you do above, then clearly we need to shut down Mueller's investigation due to all the leaks that have occurred surrounding it. |

Had the laptop been examined and cleared in a timely manner, then there wouldn't have needed to be leaks. I get that.
But why didn't the NY FBI field office do the routine work that would have taken about 5 hours, to scan the laptop and match the emails to the existing database? What I have heard is they willfully sat on it to manufacture the issue. We will see what really happened in due course. |
Yes there was a delay in the investigation — but not by Comey. When you misstate basic facts you lose credibility. There was no delay in the leaks, however. |
The IG has no issue with Clinton being cleared so why would I? Apparently you are one of the conspiracy theorists who thinks they know better than the IG? Please don’t shoot up any pizza parlors or blockade our bridges. |
I misread this post the first time and, therefore, deleted my response and your response to that. Sorry for misreading. That's the hazards of reading on a phone while on the treadmill. I haven't heard that the delay was part of a manufactured issue, but it's not out of the question. Clearly by leaking so quickly, the rogue agents were attempting to weaponize the laptop one way or another. |
What part of the IG is conspiracy theory? |
No part of the IG is a conspiracy theory. But, the IG didn't determine that Clinton should have been charged and he didn't find political biases affecting the investigation. Many Trump supporters are massively disappointed and are now convinced that we haven't been told the truth. There are posts to the affect right here in this thread. The guy in Nevada staged an armed blockade of a bridge to demand that the real report be released. Multiple Republican Congressman have demanded to be shown draft versions of report because they think the conclusion was changed. You are convinced that the leaks by rogue FBI agents were justified because Clinton was being wrongly cleared -- a conclusion not found in the IG report. Obviously, you are aligned with the rogue agents, the Republicans Congressmen demanding draft reports, and the bridge blockader in believing that the IG report's conclusions are wrong. |

Here is a concise timeline of the events involving the leaks by rogue FBI agents:

No Trump supporter is massively disappointed. It’s clear from previous posts you know that Clinton was wrongly cleared - that evidence is irrefutable. We would like to know Obama’s role |
See the problem? This is the delay. They shared info for a month and Comey and co had no clue? September 27 – October 26th: FBI Agents in New York Field Office contact Rudy Giuliani and share information about existence of Clinton emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop. [Reuters, April, 19th, 2018] |
You are cherry picking. We don't know the exact date of the leak to Giuliani, but it could have been September 27. In that case, there was no delay. We do know the approximate date of the leak to Nunes and there was definitely no delay in that case:
You are repeatedly doing two things to justify the leaks by rogue FBI agents: 1) justifying it based on conclusions not found in the IG report that Clinton was wrongly exonerated; and; 2) providing a post hoc justification based on the delay in examining the laptop. Neither of those things justifies illegal leaks and, as the IG report found, those leaks pushed Comey to write to Congress resulting in a significant negative impact on the campaign for Clinton. The bottom line is that rogue FBI agents influenced the election to Clinton's detriment. Your failed justifications don't change that. |
