I understand that this is a good movie, but I encourage those of you so inclined to help with the boycott of this movie. I understand if this issue is not on your radar and you choose not to support, but it helps to get the word out for those who would support the cause.

For those that don't know, this the is latest case of Hollywood discrimination against Asian actors. For generations, Asians have been been selectively excluded from Hollywood. Despite a long list of talented Asian actors, relatively few get much screen time. Asians are traditionally not considered for any non-Asian roles and even characters that are Asian are often cast with Caucasian actors. From the original Charlie Chan, to Mickey Rooney in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" to the current day (Keanu Reeves in 47 Ronin, The last Airbender and now Dr. Strange) Asians are frequently excluded even from parts written as Asian. The discrimination is usually waved off as artistic license or casting the best actor for the role, although the same consideration is never given in reverse. While I think that Tilda Swinton is an amazingly talented actress, the role was written in the 1960's and has always been an aging Tibetan man, e.g. an Asian man. He runs a monastery in Tibet that teaches martial and magical arts and it's supposed to be credible that it's a British woman?

Full disclosure: I am a part-time Asian actor in the local area and have also seen the same issue in theater. This is not a militant issue, but one where we need to raise the awareness and so I gently encourage those who have other choices, to see other movies and not support this movie.

I also didn't understand why would there be a white woman playing the Ancient One. I could even understand if they cast an Asian woman, as there is basically only other female role in the movie. But, blondest of the blond and then shaved? It goes against everything in the cannon. Comics are already good and trippy, why change it? On top of it, how does a white woman becomes and Ancient One when magic is practiced in Tibet and he has been alive since 1400s? So how, and why and does anybody even cares for logic in Marvel Studios?
