I think we can stipulate "all Gwyneth Paltrow movies" -- that's just bad acting.

Haven't seen it in years, but I recall Sliding Doors being good.

How can you not get Titanic and Love Actually? They are pretty bad, but I think the OP is asking for movies that we didn't understand.

OP back. Ended up watching Cider House Rules tonight. Wow, not expecting the underlying theme. Strong movie...made me think.

But back to this thread.....

To the PP who mentioned Lost in Translation and Black Swan- Yes! Also movies I did.not.get.at.all!

Ha ha I rewatched it in the last year. Told DH it was interesting. He agreed to watch.
It doesn't hold up very well over time.

Worth a re-watch to laugh at 90s Gwyneth. Her scent is terrible. The love interest is NOT hot. He's actually repelling. It'll be funny. I promise.

Oh and the terrible technology made for a hilarious visual moment when the 'doors slide' at that first moment. It's just SO badly done compared to how easy movies looks now. (I'm no expert, so I'll forgive them.... But something about it made me die laughing).

Nothing hill.
Watching for the first time, I kept thinking WHY are we rooting for this couple? Don't get it. Below my low standards for a romance.
