Do people lie about FARMS?

They are also Arlington residency cheaters.
It's really not hard to do.

+1. Thank for bringing up a very relevant example for how people siphon taxpayer money out.

You rehashed this thread for this? Report it or shut up. Stop bringing up dead threads to cause drama.

PS: For SNAP purposes, either parent can claim the child as long as the child resides with them at least one day a month.

This whole "report it or shut up" perspective doesn't make much sense to me. If enforcement of the law is entirely dependent upon complaints from other citizens, that's basically advocating a system where standards will never be enforced on a widespread basis. Imagine if law enforcement only responded to crime that was reported to them from other people and did no independent enforcement of the law on their own. Sure, I would encourage people to report those breaking the law, but I think you can also advocate for a system with more robust verification procedures for income eligibility than exists currently. Of course, one isolated example like the PP posted is nothing more than anecdotal evidence of widespread fraud, but no reason they shouldn't share it unless they also report it.

So, that is a problem.

It is federal policy. Take it up with congress if you don't like it. The county has zero say in that.

I agree with this but a lot is federal policy, not state or local.

Also, eligibility workers typically report on their clients if something seems off. It isn't just outside calls. But, again, federal policy sometimes allows people to qualify even though it seems they shouldn't.

Yes, I think you're right. The Feds set these policies and there are arguments to be made both ways, i.e., stricter or lighter enforcement. Honestly, I tend to think the increased cost of more enforcement would probably cost more than any savings gained from eliminating the fraud that does exist and, when it comes to something like giving people free food, it's hard to get too upset about it, at least in my opinion. I think the most obnoxious posts on this thread have been from those who think the fraud is rampant and from those who think there is little or no fraud. The truth is probably somewhere in between. Yes, there is fraud as there is any government program, but that doesn't mean the program isn't helping a lot of people who really need it.

Do people come into this country illegally?

DO people work under the table?

Yikes lady, not sure who you are mad at, but this was not a rehashing. I did report it- so do I now need to 'shut up'?
