That's really unfair

Anyone know the breakdown of kids by feeders and not?

I hope that information isn't available. People shouldn't have the opportunity to single out/scapegoat certain feeder schools.

Wow. You would suppress information to "protect" people and control behavior? Welcome to America 2016. I thought open data in education was going to expose injustice and inequality and make us all accountable. Guess not.

I am.unaware of any secondary school in the country that breaks down test scores by elementary feeder. That seems like a recipe for divisiveness, as well as a bureaucratic nightmare for the staff.

Well, you could look at the test scores of 5th graders at the various feeders. BTW, what happened to the kids who were punching the pictures on the walls?

Typical MS rowdiness.

DCI parent == I just LOL when I read posts that a large percentage of kids are unable to control themselves bc of technology or that all schools suffer these problems. Just keeping letting your wishes block your view of reality.
Anonymous
PP You lost me but glad you are amused.

20:02 so your DC is not reporting any of these problems. That's good to hear.

DC at DCI, but leaving, I encourage all parents considering DCI to walk into random classes at DCI (not the particular classes DCI directs you to observe). Parents will be stunned about the teacher time devoted to attempting to control 25% of the class at the expense of the education of the 75%. No rational parent would say this is a good place for their child. Its tragic that 25% are allowed to destroy the interests of the 75%.

I like the tech white list idea above. Have any DCI parents suggested it? Are the tech concerns and discipline concerns brought up at school meetings? What are the responses?

21;36 Did you talk to the administration about your concerns? What was the response? Is it because the kids are getting distracted by phones, chromebook or are the students being disruptive? We are at a feeder school. I really want to like DCI but just have concerns

I said it earlier in this thread, I doubt any DCI parent is discussing these behavior issues in classes with any school admin.

I don't think the bad behavior is because of tech and phones. I think it's how they were raised. Disrespectful, loud, disruptive, bad kids.

Working adults aren't allowed to whip out their cell phones wildly bully, so why on earth children at school would be allowed is beyond me. This poor behavior will follow these kids to the workplace and make their futures harder. This is why we're not inclined to go to DCI after LAMB. Sad, really. But, if DCI can't figure out something so simple, what else are they negligent with?

Your premise is ridiculous. The school does filter content and block apps on the school provided chromebooks. But your child's phone is your responsibility. If your child doesn't have the self-control not to use is during class, why one earth would you give your child a smart phone at all? You realize there are phones without data or wifi, don't you? And a myriad of controls you can set if you can't resist buying your kid an expensive iphone. But perhaps you just don't know how to say no? Try parenting.

Do they break out FARMs? Pretty sure they do, but that data might not be shared.
