People often care when innocents are subjected to pain and suffering.

It's creepy. So focused on genitals.

So this is a 'creepy' organization? http://www.endfgm.eu/en/

Yes, that's totally the same thing.

Is rolling your eyes the only thing you're capable of?

Can you write sentences?

You're not really worth wasting words on. You couldn't understand them anyway.

+1

My husband was in the room for our first, came out white as a sheet and handed the baby to me. We didn't circumcise our second son.

It's awful. Poor baby boys. I've heard the screaming and I'll never forget it. Never.

It took about 10 minutes, he was still crying when the nurse carried him out of the circumcision room and gave him back to me. I was in tears myself, but the nurse smiled and reassured me that he did fine and he just didn't like being strapped down. She said he missed his mommy too and that I should feed him as soon as possible. I never really heard the care advice she told me due to my son's crying and me being so emotional at the time. I changed one diaper on him so far and he screamed I feels so bad, I hope it's just the first day and he'll be fine afterwards.

What a messed up thing to do to your own child. You don't seriously believe the nurse who told you he was fine or do you? He didn't scream because he was strapped down. He screamed because someone cut off a part of his penis. With the penis being the most sensitive part of his body. He is in sever pain now. You have intentionally let someone harm your baby for nothing else than a cosmetic procedure. I am glad I grew up in Europe where people are more educated about circumcision. Nobody here gets it done unless it is medically necessary. And most certainly not without anesthesia and proper pain management.

Sure all the pro-circ parents will tell you it's fine. And it's easy to believe that since it's such a common thing to get done. But would you cut off a teenage boy's foreskin like that? Or an adult man's? Strapped down, no anesthesia, no pain management? Yet somehow people still believe it's fine to do to a completely helpless baby who doesn't even have the ability to comprehend what's being done to them. Disgusting nothing else.

Nobody cares what you think.

You sure don't because I don't share your opinion. I can assure you the countless posters in this thread speaking up against circumcision care very much. But then they also care about their babies enough not to cut of a piece of their penises. You didn't care about that either so it's no surprise you don't care about me calling it what it is.

You are a coward, criticizing a mother's choice behind the cloak of anonymity.

Coward, coward, coward.

I have girls. I just want to make sure an awful person like you gets called out. You should be ashamed of yourself, talking to OP like that.

OP should be ashamed of herself, but she is clearly too stupid and gullible to have an original though. And anyone who believes "oh, he wailed for 10 minutes because he didn't like being strapped down but slicing off his foreskin didn't bother him" is an effing idiot.

I hate all these people who are so pro circ but can't just own up to the realities. You want to do it? Fine! Your choice. But don't kid yourself that it didn't hurt and try to justify it through lies.

Anyone who doesn't circ because they don't want to hurt their baby is just insane. The pain goes away. He won't hurt forever. I don't know 1 woman who wants a guy with forskin. Cut is much for preferred.

Clearly you're upset about your penis, which probably looks like some sort of mollusk if it still has foreskin.

Pediatrician here - the sugar water -sweet-ease - is actually proven to reduce pain as much as morphine. They studies were done on infants undergoing painful procedures and showed that sweet Ease and IV morphine caused equal drops in heart rate and blood pressure - indicating pain relief. , myself, have done numerous painful procedures on infants and sweet Ease really helps.

I've also been present at many circumcisions and there is significantly more discomfort from the position (being strapped down) than from the procedure, when baby has sweet Ease. Local anesthesia also helps.

To piggyback off of a PP, uncircumcised penises look like slimy sea creatures... and they usually smell a bit rancid. If you have kids with foreskin I hope you're teaching them to clean them WELL each and everyday to get rid of the bacteria that builds up in that moist area under the foreskin.

Previous posters have listed the health benefits. Haven't heard anyone list health benefits of keeping foreskin. Does it hurt? I'm sure it does. So does getting your wisdom teeth out. But we do that as a preventative measure to prevent issues down the road. Like wisdom teeth you don't need foreskin.

Braces hurt, too.

The sheer idiocy of the people on this thread make me sick...I thought the DC area was farther advanced in a lot of things until I read this. I may live in a much more rural area but we have so much more awareness of the reality of circumcision-not all this dumb crap

"they look like slimy sea creatures...I've don't know one women who wants a guy with foreskin" You all sound like you have the minds of a 5 year old.

You need to get out more.

I am first-generation American and from a cultural background where nobody circumcises unless they are Muslim, whcih most people are not. I prefer uncut, as do all the women I know.
