So I am confused. Is the name pretentious or a stripper name (from previous DCUM threads)???

Signed
A Mercedes

If you are anything other than Latina then it's stripper.

In that case, uninformed self-admitted Anglophiles. Rhys is a Welsh name.

Meh. Close enough.

Not if you're Welsh.

LOL about Rosebud! She was the cow you milked at the dairy where we went for school trips. You even got a pin that said "I milked Rosebud!"

If they are Anglophiles they have chosen the wrong name. It's a Welsh name. Nothing pretentious about it at all.

Try saying that to a Welshman. They wouldn't take kindly to that view.

I'll agree that Mercedes is totally normal if you are Latina. If not, it just seems a little strange.

Atticus actually appeals to me, just because it seems easy to pronounce and not that different from more common boys names. It seems a little odd for a middle name, but that's just because I don't generally like very complex or long middle names (unless the first name is very common and simple, like John).

Sir

Yes, a co-worker named her son Sir. She thought it was great that his teachers would have to call him "sir", like it would mean the teachers were respecting him.

We other co-workers joked that if she ever had a daughter, she would probably name her ma'am.
