Rhys. Pronounced "Reece."
Self-admitted Anglophiles. |

I think there are a lot of great winners in here, but I have to agree that D'artagnan is first among equals.
I am not really of Spanish heritage, but my (very anglo, US born) family lived in Spain and all over Latin America. My mother was born in Havana and a lot of spanish permeated our lives (my aunt has a latin name). I have loved the name Mercedes for a long time and really wanted to use that for a girl, at least as a middle name. But I know the car association is too strong, especially as we are clearly of anglo/german extraction. Here's my question: what's the take on Atticus as a boy's middle name? Clearly a reference to To Kill a Mockingbird...is it too pretentious? First name is pretty "generic" and tame. |
In that case, uninformed self-admitted Anglophiles. Rhys is a Welsh name. |
Not an uncommon name. Spanish origin. |
I love this name. |
Meh. Close enough. |
Lol, I don't think it's the same person. I guess there are at least two pretentious AHN-dreas... |
I was joking. It was a reference from the original 90210. I remember thinking that was fairly pretentious and I was pretty young at the time.

Yuck |
Oh, I see. I never watched but it makes sense now. The person I know with that name is now in her 50s, so older than the TV show. Carry on!

| My parents were about to name my brother Ignatius. Thankfully, common sense prevailed. |
| Pendleton, a girl |
Atticus is too pretentious and yes I know a toddler with that name, and I feel sorry for him. |
| Jean Luc. |
Awe. I like that name |
