It seems to me it would be very impossible to really boycott Israel. And you know the Arab nations trade with Israel too. Where do you think Israel gets its gasoline? The same place we do.

So then I guess you would support the us of forced laborers from the occupied countries of Europe by Bayer during WW2 since they were producing something of benefit to others.

What an odd conclusion. My point is that it is very difficult to actually boycott Israel as is evidenced by Jimmy Carter's cancer treatments and Arab nations selling gasoline to Israel. There are numerous more examples.

To speak to your point. I was not alive during WWII so I didn't buy Bayer items. However I do object to unfair labor conditions around the world and yet I do purchase things made in those places. As I said it is very difficult in our intertwined world to actually spend our money entirely based on our morals/ values. I do not understand how you concluded from my statement that I support illegal labor.

Would you deny your kids a life saving treatment because it was developed in Israel?

I don't have the energy to read through 12 pages but has anyone stated the goal of boycotting Israel?

Would you use a treatment that was developed from medical experiments conducted on concentration camp prisoners?

Do you eat shrimp? Today's Post says lots of the shrimp we buy, including at Whole Foods, may be peeled by Burmese slaves in Thailand. Many crying children.

I have read that many Palestinians working on Israeli product lines are pretty happy, unlike these crying slaves. After reading this. I literally never want to eat shrimp again and may boycott it.

But back to my question--boycott to what end? Apartheid boycotts were very clear to me, but this is not unless you have a very specific end. If it is just to "protest the treatment of Palestinians" there are also people on the Palestinian side behaving badly and not coming to the table. Would you boycott all bad actors until a reasonable deal was brokered? What's the goal?

I probably already have, frankly, sad as that was. The only ones responsible for that is the particular Nazis who abused those Jews.

And as a Jew? My grandmother would say "There should be some good that comes out of that horror - let other people live. That would be the blessing".

Glad I hate shrimp.

I wonder how many liberals I can find asking about trips to Thailand, if I go to the travel section here on DCUM?

The "goal" probably depends on one's motives. Being pro-boycott is on trend and likely to get you social standing and approval. It can be a mask for antisemitism. And it may come from legitimate concern. Maybe it's some of all of these or none of them. But the obsession with Israel by some is almost pathological.

The antisemitism accusation is often pathological, as if no one is allow to say anything critical.

NP. I'm dark, so I doubt I could live as well in Israel as I live here. Have you actually been to Israel. They really do treat dark people like crap. Going through the customs line to board the airplane are two separate lines, and it does not matter if you have a USA passport. Heck, they treat the Sephardic and Ethiopian Jews as second class citizens. The Black Hebrew Israelites like third class citizens. And the Palestinians aren't treated with citenzry at all.

So your answer is yes and if the horror is on going? Yes again?
