AAP Eligible letter received

117 NNAT (79%)
97% FAT
11 GBRS
Report cards are mostly 3s, some 2s, although 2nd quarter this year jumped up to almost all 4s
DC is IN.

I can't understand how some kids with such high scores did NOT get in. I hope the parents appeal. I can only assume that a file got put in the wrong pile.

I am appealing. Have a meeting with AART to talk about the process. My kid has a GBRS of 11, 98% on NNAT, 72% on fxat, and ALL 4s on report card. Obviously, DC has met and exceeded every bench mark on the report card and needs more of a challenge. I was really mad earlier, but now am ready to fight for what is right. My older DC has kids in the AAP class with a GBRS of 10 and NNAT of 89%.

Hold on, people. Those of you with acceptance letters who have not weighed in on the Great Color Controversy of 2013 need to shape up or ship out. Any colors other than blue and yellow in the mix? And what kind of self-respecting troll would ever play games with anything so serious as the color of the school selection form?

Where is the GoCat when you really need her? I understand that the GoCat is color blind.

Who wrote the letters of recommendation for those who got in?

My DC has similar scores. Would you still schedule a meeting with the AART if she hasn't been supportive in the process? She's kind of an odd one, and hard to get a read. The teacher also does not discuss aap process with any parents.

We didn't include any recommendation letter. Just some certificates and work samples.

Our AART is like that too and that's why I did not ask to see the file. I was too intimidated I guess.

Oops...quoted wrong post...just answering inquiry as to who did reference letters.....cannot be a FCPS employee, BTW.

We included a recommendation letter from first grade teacher (out of FCPS), but mostly because DC has an October 2005 birthday and should be in first grade instead of second grade. Previous school had different age cutoff.

Mine was a nice vermilion cardstock, written in calligraphy. It must mean DC is one deemed profoundly eligible.
