Last time we got someone talking about DD's outfit she had these on:

The lady talking about it had her grandson in an outfit saying "daddy's little monkey" [insert eye roll here]

I paid $11 for the top and$12 for the shorts. Do people really care that much about what other kids wear? Wow!

That is seriously ugly. Much like you for caring so much about the labels and image.

It's not ugly. The bottom is fine, the top is overdone.

Overdone? A white top with a embroidered strawberry on the corner is overdone? I just hope you're not the mom with the kid in spiderman Tshirt.

It's overdone (embroidery + fruit + elaborate shape), but especially so in combination with the bottom. If you combined it with jeans or some other dressed-down bottom, it would be better. The bottom is better.

And, no I am not a mom with the kid in Spiderman T-shirt though you are making too much of that. My kid in all likelihood is dressed better than yours (and more expensive, btw - I would rather pay full price a well-made piece that goes with a lot of different thing than buy loads of crap on sale).

OP here. I never think about your kids or how much you pay for their clothes when I pick my kids' clothes so you can relax. It's not a contest. This is not what the thread is about. My question was what to respond when people point out the price tag on the clothes my children wear. I think you missed it.

It's ugly (as has been pointed out), prissy, pretentious, and cheap. I'm sure you put bows/flowers/headbands in her hair to dial it up another absurd notch. Nobody cares how much it costs , and you're posting here so you can brag while patting yourself on the back on your exquisite **coughcough** taste in clothing. You seriously need to find a hobby other than dressing your daughter in unappealing, overembellished clothing that is unlikely to be comfortable.

Actually not. Due to a illness DD is bald so she only wears hats to protect her scalp from the sun.

Or should I say "she wears only hats"... before the lady who likes to mock people's writing skills will come here and piss herself laughing at me.

OP, people comment on your children's clothes not because they are extremely cute or expensive, but because they find you to be annoying as crap and just want to piss you off. How's that for an explanation?

BTW, how do you find time to be posting here all day with two kids under three?

I'm good at multitasking and I manage my time well.

Yes , they are the ones who care about the labels. Otherwise why bother puking out so much anger about a set of toddler's clothes? You need to stop responding to the posters and let this thread die. People are sensitive about price tags, even if they deny it. If they don't care, this thread will never be this long.

OP here and ITA! I could never have worded it this nicely. Thanks. And actually this is the reason for this thread. Women like the haters here are the ones making comments on my children's clothing.

I think it's OP and her absurd views that vitriol is directed towards (well, a little bit to the unattractive clothes she's so proud of). But mostly to the fact that she goes on and on about how people talk about her expsensive taste in clothing and how great her daughter looks. Unh hunh. Oh, and the HORRIBLE "little monkey" (or whatever it was) that some other kid was wearing. Nice.

You've (not that it's a surprise to anyone) completely missed the point.

It's time for you to decide whether you want to talk about clothing or not. Every time somebody points out that they are not impressed by the way you dress your kids you suddenly decide that your child's outfits should be of no interest to anyone. But of course it was you who started the whole topic and thrown quite a few insults towards those who are not as stylish as you imagine yourself to be; just a few pages ago you posted your daughter's outfit.

As a matter of fact that outfit reveals that your style has a long way to go. It's not a big deal; those things can be learned if you want to learn them. But you act (with no basis whatsoever) like some well-established fashion authority here - we can talk about fashion but only if we agree with you. That is not going to fly.

OP here. I never claimed to be fashion savvy and I never used one word to insult anybody or their style. I think you're confused.

I'm actually more like the PP who mentioned having a hard time putting stuff together. I buy stuff is already set up and I'm pretty happy with the results. I was just wondering why some people like to talk about price tags of children clothing when they don't know the person they're talking to.

You spend way too much time talking and thinking about kids' clothes. Are you really fat and huge? Too fat to wear adult designers. Only reason an adult would be that into kid clothes.

I'm 153cms tall and weigh 55kilos. How's that in your standard?

Hold on. Someone will be back with some snark as soon as she googles a conversion chart.

Because a toddler knows not to have fun in white? Because veryone knows you can't have messy fun while wearing white? I try to keep up but now I'm really confused.

Heh. You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer are you? You need somebody to explain this to you? Or perhaps you were joking...

Better yet, why don't you write what you intend to say rather than the jumble that's in your head?

I don't understand Janie and Jack.

We shop at Children's Place. And Old Navy. And Target. And yard sales/consignments. Honestly, Janie and Jack seems overpriced and overrated - they're like the Starbucks of children's clothes.

But, to each their own. Just don't start patting yourself on the back over it - clothes are clothes. They will be worn the same way regardless of where they come from.

Whoa there Millie. No need to disparage Starbucks.
