My children only wear Janie and Jack

You mentioned tha tyou like when people share deals with you so I would say exactly what you suggested. "Yeah, I know the regular prices are quite steep but when you only buy on sale, like I do, the quality and adorable looks you get are worth it to me." I might then respond by saying, "Wow I always thought they were WAY overpriced but now that you mention the current items you just bought at those sale prices I might reconsider shopping there. Thanks for the tips." With me it would probably lead into a conversation about J&Js sale cycles and how you estimate what size clothes your kids will be in if you shop off season, etc. etc.

Are you the AU Park "thrifty" mom married to a doctor blogger?

Probably.

OP are you for real or do you work for Janie and Jack? This reminds me of someones comment on another post "life begins and ends at the mall". If this is a serious post, I would just say, "that is none of your business how much or where I buy my kids clothes, there are more important things to worry about or focus on"

OP here. I love your approach. Thanks for sharing the idea!

It is rude for people to comment on the price tag of your children's clothing.

pp here - don't listen to all of the haters! I get some hand-me-downs from friends, I shop a huge bi-annual consignment sale for fall/winter and then spring/summer clothes and supplement with online or in store sales. My kids also wear mainly the brand names you mentioned. Many of my friends and I are what another poster said - thrifty and snobby!! Why not!!

I also buy ALL of the clothes for my 3 nephews who live out of state and for 1 great-nephew who lives in ayet another state. So it's mostly consignment/hand-me-downs/good sales. But since I can afford it this is the way I shop.

Haters? What haters? I only saw your post...

I also did a lot of consignment but with the prices I see now it's worth buying new and then consigning it. What I love about consginment is finding brand new stuff for so cheap. I got DS see kai run shoes for $2, a like new pack n play for $7!!!!

$8.99 for a onesie?! You're reminding me why I never shop there.

I bet one million OP is the same crazy lady who posted about people talking about her fancy stroller.

Are you also that obsessed nanny who posted about bosses commenting on your brand name purses and flats? and your children's clothes?

Yes, I'd rather pay that and wash it a million times and sell it later for $3 than buy the $1 gerber ones that look like rags after the first wash.

Honey, if you are buying consignment, you can't afford it.
