Ann (or Carmella- she has various official documents that flip flop her first and middle names so no one knows, but she goes by Ann) and Albert- 100% Italian.
Henry and Alice (Alexandra)- 100% Polish. |
That's funny, my parents have friends now (in their 70s) named Stella and Red. And I am loving all these grandmas named Myrtle! Mine were: Ida and Isaac (named my son Isaac in his memory) Malvina (Mollie) and Irving |

Wreta and Ralph
Moak and Loa |
| I am finding all these names so full of character (and in a way, comforting). Maybe it will start people thinking about them again! |

Marshall and Judith
John and Elizabeth |
My mother's parents were Paul Joseph and Mary Ursala. |
Marguerite brings back a flood of memories for me! When I was little I spent a lot of time staying with my grandma at her house (my grandfather died when I was very young) and her best friend across the street was Marguerite. I've never heard anyone else with that name! We'd go over to her house and watch the Waltons and Lawrence Welk on Saturday night. I wish I could go back in time to one of those nights with my grandma. Her name was Ruth - now my daughter's middle name and my grandpa was Glenn - my son's middle name. Grandparents on the other side were Georgia and Ellis. Fun thread! |
