Most of the time, people with these disabilities might just have to work harder than those without the...or they might have a strength in an area that makes them outproduce others in that area. Either way, another PP mentioned AI, and if anything, I believe AI will even the playing field for everyone. And watch out...some of these twice exceptional kids will probably be designing the AI that will put your ordinary kids out of work. |
The purpose of the SAT is not what CB says the purpose is. The purpose of SAT is what its users say its purpose is. Those users are college admissions officers, and college admissions officers want high IQ kids and rich kids |
I can't tell if you seriously believe labor markets work perfectly and somehow automatically adjust for discrimination even if it occurs during the college admissions process |
AI is coming for everyone's jobs. AI will be designing itself and won't need slow kids or kids of any processing speed. It's rich that you think slow processers will have some sort of unique survival skill here. |
The people you are arguing with don't understand the idea of solving hard problems. They just want a cram sheet to memorize. |
And thanks to AI, demand for quality control is skyrocketing. |
I think you are misinterpreting this. People are saying this is why the college board doesn’t do this. Again, CB is not predominately comprised of parents of kids who get additional time. If I was the only decision maker for college board everyone would get as much time as they want or need. At the same time I am able to acknowledge a practical barrier on space/proctors is probably one of the reasons they don’t default to everyone getting as much time as they want. |
This perspective exists but is uncommon. Usually among stupid people who aren't going to get benefit ultimately anyway |
Interesting that you are focused on "slow processors." In reality "slow processors" don't get extra time. Yes, there are kids with ADHD that may also have slow processing speed, but the processing speed issue alone will not get them the accommodation. |
