I have a hard time with some dresses- I am 5'9, have boobs, long legs/short torso, no defined waist and a solid size 8 |
I'm 5'6'', 127 with an hourglass shape but a bit of C-section pooch. |
| For those who mention the QUINCE tencel wrap dress, is it fitted in the sleeves. I have heavy upper arms. |
I love this one! |
Are you OP? |
Try it! I think the photo is because of the model. I don’t have a very defined waist and the fabric is very stretchy. I look normal in it.

I bought this at Mango recently. My body type is different than OP's, but it seems to fit her criteria.
https://shop.mango.com/us/en/p/women/dresses-and-jumpsuits/casual/a-line-dress-with-cutwork-embroidery_27069058 I also have this . . . the ties give a slim shirtdress a little pizazz. https://www.zara.com/us/en/tied-shirtdress-zw-collection-p04786068.html?v1=506633733&v2=2420896 This one is on my "maybe" list. I know DCUM has an aversion to flowy dresses, but they work for me. https://www.zara.com/us/en/zw-collection-halter-polka-dot-dress-p04437042.html?v1=512885968&v2=2420896 |
The only one of these I like is the yellow linen shift dress but agree that I'd worry I'd stain it somehow. Most of these would be okay (not great) for dinner or drinks out, but I wouldn't wear during the day for work/school drop off/appointments/errands. I love a midi dress that it's easy to wear a bra with, I can ride a commuter bike in, and that can be dressed up or down with shoes and accessories. So these dresses just aren't it for me. The first one is closest but I don't like that specific style of dress with the ruching in the bodice (just on me, it's fine for other people if that doesn't bother you, it never sits right on me and I find it uncomfortable). |
I like all of these. I think the collared dress would look bad on me (I'd look religious and uptight in it) but the other two are really cute. |
+1 Unprompted snide remarks like this are so telling. And then people like this insist that other women avoid them out of envy when it's really just that most adult women don't want to hang around mean people. |
