What is your shape/size like if you don't mind sharing since it is flattering?

I have a hard time with some dresses- I am 5'9, have boobs, long legs/short torso, no defined waist and a solid size 8

I'm 5'6'', 127 with an hourglass shape but a bit of C-section pooch.

For those who mention the QUINCE tencel wrap dress, is it fitted in the sleeves. I have heavy upper arms.

Are you OP?

Oh, DCUM "fashion" - never change!

Here's what I've bought or want to buy for the summer:

I'm mid 40s, 5'7'', 135

I got this maxi last year in a navy polka dot print (I wear it with the straps): https://www.jcrew.com/p/womens/categories/clothing/dresses-and-jumpsuits/smocked-maxi-dress-in-cotton-voile/CI259?color_name=radiant-cobalt&N=SMALL&noPopUp=true&srsltid=AfmBOoq1eyhs5V9IUDjJYtpSMsgscS9uat7kTFvhesLqmfY6JREpBV9E04U#no_universal_links

Simple but sleek: https://www.moderncitizen.com/products/rae-sculpted-scoop-neck-mini-dress-black?variant=41278430904383&country=US¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=18096969250&tw_kwdid=&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=18095533368&gbraid=0AAAAAC6uCPoiOoitw5-dCbHiLK7SnxMHC&gclid=CjwKCAjwqazPBhALEiwAOuXqdARBmDa9LzGD819cPzEZ1EA6lgjSUQ4_ELqI3mlN_66vWgfQPEL2hRoCJnMQAvD_BwE

Everyday throw on dress that can be dressed down with flip-flops for the farmers market or work with heels and a clutch for dinner (my coloring is better with brown than black so I'm aiming for more brown): https://charcoalclothing.com/collections/dresses-1/products/conway-mini-dress-chocolate

I also like this one for a light color which I don't gravitate towards because I do a lot of hands-on stuff and tend to stain things immediately: https://evereve.com/products/lillian-linen-shift-dress-banana

Considering this but haven't tried it on and don't want it to be shapeless: https://evereve.com/products/saba-dress-primaverastripe

I like all of these but the I would look so hippie in the first dress, and I'm 5'7, 123. It just has an unfortunate cut.

You are unkind so stuff your dresses. There are lots of different people on here with different body types who can't wear what you post. Let them post other things without your snide remarks. Jerk.

Try it! I think the photo is because of the model. I don’t have a very defined waist and the fabric is very stretchy. I look normal in it.

Right? Plus they're all meh.

I bought this at Mango recently. My body type is different than OP's, but it seems to fit her criteria.

https://shop.mango.com/us/en/p/women/dresses-and-jumpsuits/casual/a-line-dress-with-cutwork-embroidery_27069058

I also have this . . . the ties give a slim shirtdress a little pizazz.

https://www.zara.com/us/en/tied-shirtdress-zw-collection-p04786068.html?v1=506633733&v2=2420896

This one is on my "maybe" list. I know DCUM has an aversion to flowy dresses, but they work for me.

The only one of these I like is the yellow linen shift dress but agree that I'd worry I'd stain it somehow.

Most of these would be okay (not great) for dinner or drinks out, but I wouldn't wear during the day for work/school drop off/appointments/errands. I love a midi dress that it's easy to wear a bra with, I can ride a commuter bike in, and that can be dressed up or down with shoes and accessories. So these dresses just aren't it for me. The first one is closest but I don't like that specific style of dress with the ruching in the bodice (just on me, it's fine for other people if that doesn't bother you, it never sits right on me and I find it uncomfortable).

I like all of these. I think the collared dress would look bad on me (I'd look religious and uptight in it) but the other two are really cute.

+1

Unprompted snide remarks like this are so telling. And then people like this insist that other women avoid them out of envy when it's really just that most adult women don't want to hang around mean people.

Do you not find that the second and third are too short at your height? I’m 5’8” and would feel like my whole ass was hanging out.
