Has anyone called out that he would be singing a different tune if his daughter had won the race? Luis is very competitive, nothing wrong with that. Except it is the kind of competitiveness that changes league bylaws and makes it difficult for other kids and parents in the league. So again, if his daughter had one, I’d put my money on none of this would be happening. |
You are making things up at this point. No one changed their sex or age. That's not possible, and that's not what OP claimed. He admits that his entire public tantrum is based on looking at little girls' crotches and jumping to conclusions. This creep was visually inspecting the crotches of 8 year old girls in bathing suits and decided to go vigilante. It sounds, by his own admission, that he was behaving erratically wnd in violation of NVSL rules. |
+ 1 Thank you. To every young swimmer reading this: you all deserve to swim with joy and abandon without grown men visually inspecting your bodies, for whatever reason. Swim away. |
What is a marshal's job at a swim meet? Luis admits to reading while he's supposed to be working. |
Thank you for speaking up here. I really feel for this girl and her family, and doubly so now that Mr. Fernandez decided to bring the issue back to the forefront. I see that he has responded to others in this thread, but not to you, and therefore not to apologize for his misunderstanding. Telling. |
Crowd control. Making sure the swimmers follow the walking path instead of climbing through the ropes. Keeping spectators off the deck. Raising the quiet flag at the start of each heat so the crowd stops talking and the swimmers can hear the starter. If everyone is doing what they're supposed to do, it's a pretty easy job. You shouldn't have to do a whole lot. But you are supposed to be watching, not reading. |
I was listening to a podcast this morning about the Epstein Files, and one of the hosts spoke about the near-universal experience of teenage girls who spend their adolescence trying to outrun sexual assault. Most girls have a story about a grown man who yells at them out a car window, or approaches them on a bus, or at a shop, or even in safe spaces like church or schools. Now I guess we need to add "creeps doing a transvestigation" to the list of things we worry about for our daughters. |
This. Sexual harassment, assault attempts started for me around age 10. These posts make me so sad. |
You should be this passionate about releasing the Epstine files. Real harm was done there, all involved should be held accountable even our Bully in Chief.
As a D1 swimmer who has competed against the most famous swimmer in the world, I can say with authority that these meets are supposed to be fun and should remain light hearted. Using a child to bring a political fringe issue targeted to scare the conservative base is beyond disgusting. What do you think Jesus would do here? (Not your close minded parish, but what would Jesus do?) |
Jeff should report this thread to the authorities. The OP is a predator. |
And this is what these trans vigilantes don’t understand. They are harming ALL girls when they do this sort of thing. I hope every pool in the area knows his name and won’t let him and his family join. I’ll definitely be making our nearby pool aware of who he is in case he tries to join. |
For once, a DCUM thread where we all agree.

Doesn't feel like this went according to plan... But cheers to unity! |
That article makes me so angry. I realize it's not a novel concept that the media manipulates and spins information to support a narrative but sheesh. This makes it sound like a meet marshal is empowered to enforce the rules. That's like saying an usher at a baseball game can call balls and strikes.
Also still waiting for the OP to acknowledge the fact that the child in question was, in fact, a female. Not that it matters. His behavior was reprehensible regardless. But his lack of response to that fact further demonstrates that this was a stunt to take a stand on an issue. At the expense of a child and a community organization. |
