Bezos / Sanchez wedding fashion thread

Someone on tiktok showed the Schiaparelli dress on the model and LS side-by-side. On a tall woman, it looks fantastic. LS is quite short (5’3”) and for some reasons, the dress wasn’t made to her proportions. It’s a miss despite being a gorgeous dress.

I'd also add that dresses off the runway generally should be altered for real-world wear. In this case, the decoltage should be moved closer to or on the skin.

This one?

Yep.

I saw a different picture where she was looking straight ahead and she looked great—classy even.

That family usually looks ridiculous, so the dress and overall look really jumped out. She could have fit in with an East Coast WASP crowd—very classic and understated yet elegant. And black linen always makes sense in Italy.

Well that’s an objectively gorgeous dress but it isn’t a good choice for someone with LS body. The part of too makes the bust look bigger which works for a skinny model but looks cartoonish on someone with already enormous breasts. It’s not LS worst choice certainly, but it was not a great pick for her.
The black striped one looks good on her. The red one is okay.
The wedding dress is awful even though the lace is gorgeous. It looks like some sort of swaddled fetish type thing. But I feel for her designers and tailors as it’s really hard to dress around those enormous fake implants. Ivanka clearly had hers downsized at some point and everything she wears looks better on her.

For the dress, if she wanted that gorgeous lace, maybe something that would be more of an off the shoulder across the collarbone. And then a very small fishtail in more of a looser swishy style would have worked better., I don’t know.

And here for the dress from yesterday: https://www.vogue.com/article/lauren-sanchez-wedding-schiaparelli-couture-welcome-dinner#intcid=_vogue-article-bottom-recirc_9f807803-382f-4c51-8abc-7f405ab95254_text2vec1

Here's their pic of her wedding dress. I think the dress is gorgeous but would be better as either a sheath or a-line (I don't like the dramatic fishtail), and that she looks insane from the plastic surgery and corset.

Ah, the “Lean Over to Take a Big Poopy” pose.

The Schiaparelli is a case of the dress wearing the person instead of the person wearing the dress. The ill fit of the top part almost feels malicious. Like a couture house would never…on purpose.

Is it all the baby dads' week to watch all the K children? Ivanka's were the only kids I saw.

Sanchez says she wanted to imitate Loren's look from a movie.

Ivanka had an Audrey Hepburn gown copied for her.

Sad that with unlimited wealth they can't be original and classy and get something unique.

Mermaid gowns are trashy. Especially when they imply full easy opening.

My guess is they are subconsciously pining for the adulation these actresses received when similarly dressed. But no one is looking at Vank in that dress and thinking she wore it better than Audrey. Ditto Sanchez and Sophia.

There a bunch of new guest photos- Ivankas wedding day dress (also pink), Khloe K (also pink) but quite a few other people - Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld, Jewel, etc

I do too but why is she wearing it sitting in a kitchen.

Because the whole thing is insane...the dress was supposedly inspired by doges. Medieval Venetian rulers who were often found wearing velvet while tending to their majolica-tiled kitchens.

Has anyone found a picture of the dress with the Canaletto painting on it?

"Venice. I'm wearing it!"

Also the buttons make sense on the original Sofia Lauren wedding dress. Because the top is meant to look like a separate bodice. Putting them from top to bottom on the front and back of a full length dress is very strange.

I am grateful that billionaires support the fashion industry.

I also disliked Lady Di's dress - too drippy and crumpled - and Kate Middleton's dress - too basic and copying of Grace Kelly's dress. So this isn't a Lauren Sanchez thing. I'm hoping the richest people on Earth can do better. Princess Beatrice actually did a pretty good job upcycling her Granny's gown and tiara.

I know y'all hate her but I think she looks GREAT in this picture.

I like this look. Her breasts are not falling out of her dress, it’s a nice fitted design and she’s smiling normally instead of doing a weird face thing.

This is a nice look because it's sophisticated and very modest by her standards.

Agreed - it’s like she bought it off the rack and they didn’t adjust it. The corset portion needs to be shorter and the hem lifted. She is shorter with a shorter torso than the model (and even on the model it looks to have been tailored). I’m still not sure it would have been great - it seems more like a dress giving Jessica rabbit to someone without curves, so the impact is lessened when she already has them.

The most elegant royal/major celebrity wedding dress in modern memory was actually Meghan Markle, like her or not.

Although it's an elegant color combination, it doesn't look good on the runway model either.

It is an interesting "idea". Like a painting that intrigues the eye but doesn't look right anywhere in a house.

PP. I thought Meghan looked very elegant but I like society wedding dresses to have a bit more detailing. Hers was a bit plain. Though the closeup with tiara was really great.

I spent some time wondering what tiara Meghan tried to get access to that caused the reported behind the scenes argument. Supposedly the one Eugenie wore.

Back in the day, when ornate and floofy was more in fashion, I thought Fergie's dress was really nice with all the custom embroidery and the brand new custom tiara. Too bad about the prince though.
