Offers full tuition, room and board, study abroad, stipend and internship placements. Especially for the tippy top CS students who are NMF.

Great school!!! Was on our shortlist for several months and we had a great visit

My NMF is going to Rose-Hulman. He wanted a small school and he loved it when he visited. He's neurodiverse, and I think he needs a "soft launch" for college. Hoping it will be a great fit for him.

If I had a premed NMSF...off to Alabama they would go.

So much for only finding “intellectual equals” at expensive, selective privates.
density matters. The earth has more intelligent people than any school, but you won't be likely to meet the smartest outside of college.

Does anyone know how many NMSF scholars there are at Virginia Tech?

Bay Area private, for our school's very top kids (11% this year), there is a tug of war between Stanford and Harvard. Harvard retains its a mystique in a big way, but its also far away. DC chose Harvard, which I think is a better fit for him even though we will seem a lot less.

Regarding the original question that started this thread, from the cohort he knows in Northern California going, he estimates 25-30% are NMF. He ultimately was a Merit Scholar himself.

^ mean to say we will SEE him a lot less, which makes me sad.

Roll tide! But seriously, so many great full ride options for NMF. I wasn’t aware of the whole NM program until we got the news that DS had met the cutoff. I have a niece who’s finishing up 9th grade and will be doing some test prep 🤞🏼

It upsets me that so many high scorers on the SAT did not go to a school that I think they should have.

Does anyone have any insight into if Asian kids face racism at University of Alabama? Kids from DMV are accustomed to diverse population.
