I was doubtful of this myself, so I took 20 minutes to figure out where these Ballers Elite kids were from. Looks like 6 are from California, one is from Texas, one is from Utah, one is from Kansas, one is from Ohio, and one is from NJ. There is at least one kid on the roster from Florida who wasn't there. From what I could tell, there may be only two who play on the same California club. Everyone else seems to be on different teams, mostly 2014G and even 2014B but also 2015G for a couple CA kids. This was all pretty easy to find because they are all heavily promoted on instagram by mom, dad, whoever. Having older ECNL kids, I have to say I don't think I've seen this kind of thing allowed at Jeff Cup before but I could be wrong. I am not sure how being in that flight benefited them at all, but it is clearly getting them attention! So maybe that was the point.

What's crazier, a super team or a grown adult stalking kid on the internet to see what club they came from, do they train together, etc....

Couldn’t agree more. A bunch of adults picking on little kids and their Instagram accounts. It not like these same hypocrites don’t post selfies all over FB of their vacations, purchase, or whatever else they want to show off.

The irony of all this is that some of the same kids in the Ballers squad have guest played for clubs in this area in other local tournaments. Local clubs guested players from out of state last weekend for Jeff Cup. Where’s the outcry against this behavior. Yet everyone is all upset when someone else does it. Be upset with the tournament organizers. Picking on these kids is ridiculous.

You’re not wrong and have some valid points, but it’s still very different than when an entire super team is created and has no regular presence in any league etc. There is supposed to be a maximum amount of guest players. But I think they’re getting around it because none of them are technically guesting. The regular roster doesn’t exist. It’s made for the tourney.

Nothing against the kids and it is what it is. But doesn’t seem in the spirit of what a u10 tourney should be for teams who play together all year as a team and look forward to Jeff Cup. Or a great reflection on the state of youth soccer. Just my two cents.

If you can't even come up with a crest, maybe Jeff Cup should look a bit more into the "club". This is easy stuff and the result is a ***** top bracket in that AG

why are you all so threatened by a tournament team that is not affiliated with a club? what difference does it make? the kids are of the eligible age and have registered to play.

they blow everybody out because it's an assembly of above average players so they perform, individually and collectively, at a higher level and the results show that. what is so hard to grasp or swallow?

I'm not even remotely related to a 2015 AG, but please admit this was useless for all involved. If you can beat a team 18-0 (btw nice sportsmanship there), maybe don't play in that tournament. Much like a random high level club would be called out for beating down a lower level club in a local tournament. It's exactly the same thing but on a bigger scale.

Thinking about it, they should have a bracket were each region (or each league) can provide a select team of their talent. That should top level game and have less impact on the whole tournament itself.

Nope, but it really pisses me of seeing people claiming they "won" when they didn't actually "win" anything. You won some games in an effort to play in a championship that didn't actually happen.

Well I guess we have a different mindset. My d's team was slated to play in the finals and I wouldn't tell her she "won" anything. She had a great time, won 3 games, but didn't actually win her flight until that final is played.

Not at all the same thing - they played in the top bracket of a national tournament. I bet they didn't fly over to beat "high level" clubs 18-0 but level not so high after all. Why are you all not talking about that?

The first bracket competition of the 2015 AG was the weakest. While regular clubs wouldn’t have beaten them by the same margin, the end result would have been the same for those teams, maybe even the semi final. Was told another select team was in another(much harder) bracket for that AG. So this ballers elite team wasn’t alone and clearly bracketed incorrectly.

Ironically the same parents judging these parents for letting their kids focus mostly on soccer are the same parents complaining their kid isn’t starting or improving because they have DC in multiple travel sports. Ironic. So judgemental. Your time is split, theirs is not. Get over the loss and the “unfairness” of it all. Teach your kid resilience, that there is always someone out there better than them, and if they want something bad enough they have to work for it. Not only will it make them a better athlete but more importantly a better human.
