The only thing white people are doing more than Asians are sports. Asians are doing origami, ukulele, circus and the rest of the junk mentioned here.

White people are doing better in team sports popular in US. Asians actually perform better in swimming, golf, gymnastics etc. Because these are sports where individual performance matters and Asians do not get blocked by their coaches or other parents.

Golf and tennis…not sure where you are getting the stats for swimming and gymnastics.

don't pick a sport with a lot of people who look like you....
lots of other individual sports out there.
check out club sports at stanford for ideas.
even though club, they NEED people to fill those spots.

I don’t know Stanford, but my kid’s Ivy has club teams that exist one year, don’t the next, come back, etc. Usually go through cycles vs year-to-year Yes or No.

They don’t seem to care if a Club sport continues or not.

+1 club sports are almost never a hook

Instead of doing the typical ECs just fudge about your race/ethnicity on the application like my DC’s friend did and get accepted everywhere. Seriously, no one checked!

How to get rejected by Ivies:
- I have 4.0 GPA with 12 AP classes
AO response: There are 1500 Asian kids with the same achievement

- I am the violin first chair in the orchestra,
AO response: There are 1200 Asian kids with the same achievement

- I score 1570+ on the SAT
AO response: There are 1500 Asian kids with the same score as you

- I am an accomplished pianist
AO response: There are 800 Asian kids that can play piano just as good as you, if not better

- I found a nonprofit to help the homeless:
AO response: There are 500 Asian kids that also do the same thing like you

How to get accepted by Ivies:

- I can play guitar like Slash of Guns 'n Roses. I can show you how I play "November Rain" or "sweet child o mine"
AO response: Now that's unique. We would love to have you at the university

- I have a TikTok influencer with over 2M followers
AO response: Amazing. You know how to monetize your influence. It means more exposure for the university. Welcome to the university.

You get the idea...

Yes...I got the idea. You are being screwed if you are Asian-American by the AO.

So, you can be a OnlyFans ho and call yourself an influencer who has monitized herself. And then you can get in Ivy schools.

I think we get the idea so well that Asian-Americans have started going to in-state flagships with full tuition paid by the university. They have raised the profile of these state universities (looking at you UMD) and now the average non-Asian Joe is not getting admission in the state schools. Who is impacting most? Well, the OnlyFans influencer.

If an Asian-American does not get into any Ivy school, it is because they are no longer applying to Ivies, no longer applying to private schools and mostly applying to in-state flagships in sought after STEM courses. Oh, and the tuition they are saving by getting essentially free college education is being invested so that they can become wealthy.

I love that the powers that be are too dumb to realize how Asians have made lemonade with the lemons handed to them. Putting obstacles in the path of Asians always backfires.

There are no shortage of Asians at the top private schools, nor a shortage of applying, nor a shortage gaining acceptance.

Just like generations or other races/ethnicities before them, they now better understand the game and are more than willing to play it well.

I doubt successful OnlyFans participants are all that eager to attend college, much less an Ivy league college. Interesting that is where you go.

Yes, we know. It does not mean that the vast majority of Asians who are arbitarily getting rejected are not better candidates in all ways - acdemics, ECs, personality, social contribution, full pay etc - than other r students who get admitted. Blocking Asian students primarily benefit White students.

Still, the Asian students end up being successful in life and they add to the generational wealth and network. So, in the end, Asians are showing that Ivy is not the end all of college education.

It does show there are Asians that love the game as much as anyone and don’t care about Asians that don’t want to play.

??HUH?? We belong to the richest racial group in US. All of us are playing the game and playing it better than any other group. Ivy or not Ivy,. No one I know in my ethnic group is poor in US.

So, tell all the immigrant parents (who aren’t wealthy) to figure it out.

You aren’t the ones complaining about rejection even though test scores are high…because your kids aren’t getting rejected.

It’s the poor Florida kid suing that can’t figure it out.

I am responsible for all the immigrants? And the poor people of America? America is the country for rich people.

If there are poor immigrant parents from my country of origin and ethnic background that are complaining then they are basically hanging with some weird crowd. Yes, parents will wallow for some time when their high achieving kids get rejected, but, if they follow the pathways to success that their ethnic group has laid down for the community then they will be successful. Not only will they be successful and rich, but they will be able to build wealth for the next generation.

And if they are from Florida, then what can I say? They are TSTL? Donald Trump infests that state? God forbid, please, not my people!

NP: varsity sports (non-recruit), club leader, Debate/Model UN, student gov, music/band, robotics/science fair, volunteering (animal shelters, church, or hospital)

this is why winning nationals in debate is a huge, basically a golden ticket. but that's a pair of kids in the US. do you regular ol' debate is meaningful? it's not. (I mean, it is .. all these are good things for kids to develop their voice, etc but doenst matter for college)

same with music, science fair , etc

Debate championship performances look like this:

clearly ivy league material

WTF did I just watch

What HYPMS looks for is someone with a unique ability. A candidate with 4.0 GPAs with 12 AP courses plus tons of ECs, while impressive, is a dime and dozen. A musician with potential like Justin Bieber or a Tiktok influencer with huge followers is unique. It is simple economics about supply and demand. There is an oversupply of 4.0 GPAs candidates with 12 AP courses plus 1600 on the SAT but not enough candidates with the potential of Justin Bieber. Of course, the school will take the candidate with the potential of Justin Bieber. It is not that hard to understand.

Agree. People are missing the point. Those schools want innovative thinkers and leaders, not worker bees. Sure, you have to be able to work hard and grind, but to what end? Something new and interesting, not just for a grade or to win some competition. That is why they take the Justin Bieber or the influencer. It's the charisma and leadership potential. Being president of the debate club doesn't;t really show the same leadership potential. They are looking for something special.

There is no more than a few hundreds of kids in the USA with those numbers. SAT alone trims it to 700 hundred or so. so, no, there is no "oversupply" - in fact, there is no enough such candidates for HYPMS.

Also, randos doing origami and circus acts are not Justin Bieber.

There are way more than that super scored to 1600. You are thinking of a 1600 in one sitting.

If traveling around the country for circus and trapeze, hmmm.
And combine that with someone choreographing the performance to music, um hell yeah, I want that kid.

AO once said a 1590 can be better than a 1600 depending on rest of applicant’s profile. Sometimes 1600 strikes AO as too “try-hard” introverted, perfectionist or 1-dimensional.

Remember - it’s all about dimension. Or sprinkling flavor. Or whatever these AO call it these days.

Crackheads are innovators and leaders? LoL
Quite to the opposite, those so called “worker bees” possess way more intellectual prowess than you crackheads and therefore are much more likely to be innovators . Creativity is an intellectual thing. You crackheads just don’t have it regardless how popular you’re on TikTok.

I don't know if anyone remembers back in 2007 that Joshua Bell, one of the world famous violinists, stood in front of a metro station and played for 45 minutes. Almost no one recognized who he was. Joshua Bell is a great violinist, but he does not produce anything useful, he just plays music by other composers. This is the perfect example of someone with a 4.0 GPA, a high SAT/ACT score, and tons of ECs. HYPMS doesn't want this candidate.

Now replace the same above scenario with Noel Gallagher, the songwriter and singer from the band Oasis, if you don't know who he is. He would be mobbed by thousands and thousands of fans. He writes and makes his own music. This is an example of someone that HYPMS wants.

Can you see the difference?

Nobody recognizes Nobel prize winners in public. Girls from the onlyfans on the other hand...
