Oh I like that Katerina dress, and the prints are good. Sometimes the prints for the Somerset dress are pretty bad (though I like the Cedar and Ivory prints with this most current round -- I might have to get the Cedar one as it's so versatile for summer). I like that the Katerina dress gives you the option of buttoning it all the way up for a more casual look, or buttoning only up through the wide waist band for something a little sexier/more date night. And same with the buttons down the front -- can unbutton for more of a glimpse of leg, or button them all and it's fine for a school event. |
Same but I ordered a Florrie based on this thread. Will report back! |

Just got this in the mail and it's very cute and breezy, going to order in another color (I got the wedgewood and it's nice)

Love this! Hope you like it! |
I really like this dress but wonder if it only looks good with high heels like the model is wearing. What other shoes would you wear with this? I’m 5’6”, 49. |
I have narrow shoulders and a large chest and usually Boden fits me well. |
I don’t get the love for these long dresses with the double row of what looks like elastic/shirring either….but I guess that’s why I have nothing to wear… |
I'm the same height and age as you, and I ordered this in a 10. It's...a lot of fabric on me. It almost has a bustle in the back due to the cinching in the waistband (my butt is pretty normal sized - maybe you need a flat butt to pull this off). I really want to keep it, but I kind of feel like it looks ridiculous on someone my height and weight. I haven't sent it back yet, because I really want it to work, but I think it's destined for a return. |
where do you live that you are showered with compliments for wearing the Somerset dress? I feel like everyone knows that dress, owns that dress and is bored of that dress. I don't mean to come off as snarky but I'm not sure it's generated a compliment in my circle for 2 years. I feel like I can't even wear it as it's so overdone. (I wish i could).

I tried this on in an XS in the store yesterday. I am 60 years old, 5'5", 127 pounds and there was just too much fabric in the skirt. It looked ridiculous on me. |
It’s a Donna Reed cosplay dress. |
I'm in the burbs! Honestly if you like it, you should wear it! |
Confidence, lady, confidence. Doesn’t it get exhausting worrying about what everyone else is wearing? |
This is extremely harsh but I will admit that today I was out to lunch with my husband and woman walked by wearing the Somerset dress in a floral print and I immediately clocked it as *that* dress and made a note to myself that I won't buy it because it's too recognizable. I do think it's a cute dress and checks a ton of boxes for me (covered up enough for easy sun protection, lightweight and comfy in super hot and humid weather, cute neckline, fun prints) but I just don't like wearing something that everyone has. That's not a knock on people who have it and wear it, just an acknowledgement that it's become ubiquitous at this point and therefore I'm mentally moving on. If it were a less recognizable style (maybe a sportier style without the tiers and the puff sleeves) I don't think this would happen. But it has too many very recognizable details. |
I’m not sure whether to be jealous of how observant and tuned in to details y’all are, or if it’s better that I’m fairly clueless, lol. Isn’t that style in general popular? I had no idea everyone was wearing a specific Anthro dress. As I get under I’m finding it harder to find flattering yet comfortable dresses, swimsuits, etc. so popularity is low on my list of excluding criteria. Probably the only garment item I have that reaction to is the Summersalt side stroke suit in the color block, but even then if it worked for me I wouldn’t let it stop me. |
