Don’t get me wrong I am all for watching lax over not, but really?!?
It’s a scrimmage. It’s the NFL preseason. The games mean nothing and you don’t know the coaches philosophy for the game. Win at all costs? Play the starters for a good Q or half and see what the rest of the roster and freshmen can do? Just don’t get hurt?
Try out the backup goalie?

It’s something, but what it really tells us is nothing much.

I think the PP just meant it is two good teams squaring off and it is a sign that the real season is about to get underway. Better than no lacrosse.

Agree that final scores don't mean much but if you watch the games, especially in the first half, you can get a pretty good sense of how the teams match up at that point in time. Doesn't mean the teams won't improve but it is a data point.

Oh I agree with you 100%- thus the "Better to watch lax then not" part.
Just wanted to inject some common sense for those, unlike you, who will see signs in a meaningless preseason scrimmage.
Personally know two coaches- new one looking to win with a very young group, and the other, established, wanting to go through the motions and get out healthy for the season.

I know both coaches and to my knowledge they are playing one hard half then putting the backups in to get reps in the second half.

This is a pretty common approach. Play your starters in the first half to get some game speed reps before the seasons starts, then find out what else you have.

Anyone have info about this game last night?

Yes, we need a break out. Couldn't make it out to Gainesville last night.

3-1 Battlefield at the half. Both defenses looked ahead of the O and goalie play for both was excellent first half. I don't think either team was showing much on O and it looked like even in the first half both teams were subbing liberally.

Oakton at Indy? Anyone going and can report tomorrow?

Oakton @ Indy will be a good one. I think Indy impresses though.

Anyone heading over to Robinson tonight? Riverside @ Robo. Battle of the rams.

I love the excitement for the season but I’m not making it to any scrimmages. When do real games start?

Think the first games are 3/13

Is there an admission charge for scrimmages?

Usually not. Riverside/Robinson should be on NFHS if anyone cares to watch and not travel (yes, it is a scrimmage and we know some people don't care). It is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.
