Personally, I’m interested in her ‘super long post’. |
So true! |
I get the flu vaccine every year. I got the pneumonia vaccine and shingles shot. I got 2 doses of pfizer and thats it for me. Didnt react well to 2nd shot. Didnt get covid until this jan '23 despite being exposed to patients in the icu. It was mild. There's something about the mrna technology that i dont trust maybe its the nanoparticles or whatever. If covid becomes more severe again or they develop a more "traditional" vaccine maybe I'll reconsider. |
I've already had both of the original shots, plus a booster, plus COVID last summer. No way I'll be getting another booster, they make me sick for a few days and after 3 shots I got COVID anyway (which wasn't that bad). |
Not necessarily. There are studies which show vaccinated and unvaccinated have similar viral loads. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8992250/#CIT0003 CDC Statement https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2021/s0730-mmwr-covid-19.html |
More like push it, push it real good (maybe a new jingle for the pharmaceutical industry to consider) |
Same! |
Those were the original lyrics, so there’s no humor there… |
Babies are at high risk for death with RSV. My 6 week old was hospitalized for 8 days and nearly died. I didn’t hear about the vaccine until this thread, but I’m in favor of reducing spread to protect innocent babies. I got Covid over a year ago and was just thinking I should get another booster, which I haven’t had in years, because I know several people who have it now who are miserable. |
I've gotten every recommended shot so far, but I am on the fence about this new one, especially for my kids. I will probably do what I did with the last booster, which is getting it in advance of a planned trip when I will be more likely to be exposed. I still would like to see more data demonstrating that the booster will substantially reduce transition, as well as how long the benefit will last.
I will likely not recommend that my healthy sons get the booster, as both of them have had prior boosters and have had COVID. One of my sons got a pretty bad case of COVID within six weeks of getting his last booster, so I'm not sure that the non-zero risk, especially for young males, outweighs the benefits. |
No. Never had covid either. Had my booster 18 months ago and spent 2 days with horrible side effects. I’ll take my chances. |
Well you are stupid They reason COVID wasn’t that bad moron is because you had the vaccine Jesus shut up |
DP Omicron is a milder variant which is the big reason why healthy people are not getting serious cases. A Cleveland Clinic study of 50,000 employees noted that there "were too few severe illnesses for the study to determine whether the vaccine decreased severity of illness". This same study also found that the "risk of COVID-19 also increased with time since the most recent prior COVID-19 episode and with the number of vaccine doses previously received." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10234376/ |
Do we really care what others do at this point? I sure don’t. I just hope next surge will wipe some of you out. |
Nope.
I haven’t received a flu shot since 2018 when one of my coworkers got Guilian Barre from it and never returned to work. No COVID shots for me or family and we all survived COVID when we contracted it in Dec 2021. We are healthy, low risk and I will not have my three teenage sons risk deadly side effects from a risky technology. |
