We are at levels three times higher than Mumbai.

Yep. https://www.iqair.com/us/india/maharashtra/mumbai

It's Delhi that has absolutely terrible air quality, not Mumbai.

Damn those Indians must have strong lungs

Huh? No actually there are a lot of chronic respiratory issues amongst those living in Delhi, lots of childhood and even adult asthma.

That being said calm down folks, stay indoors and mask up outside, this is going to be 2-3 days.

It’s code red where I am in fairfax. I will ride my exercise bike inside instead of running outside today. Because I don’t have anything to prove to my elderly neighbors but I also want to carry on with life and routines. Thankfully my kid only likes to be inside on his iPad so no need to limit his activity any further. People are so weirdly competitive here- either competing to be the most extreme shut-in or competing to defy all practical advice just for the sake of one upping the other guy.

Anonymous wrote:LOL, those of us who live in wildfire states are laughing so hard at you all. We deal with this every year or so and guess what, most of us don’t have central AC due to our cooler climate and have dealt with it.

Just stay indoors, it’s not that difficult.

"those of us who live in wildfire states are laughing so hard at you all. We deal with this every year" Well that's pretty stupid LOL.

It’s like when those of us who grew up in violent crime ridden areas and school laugh when shootings happen in peaceful suburban places. No one wishes bad things on other people. We just want others to understand the pain we feel.

Um, no. I'm like PP in that I'm from a high-pollution area and I'm laughing at you all, but it's laughing at the people who think that it's somehow crazy to stay inside. To me that's like thinking it's crazy to wear sunscreen.

I’m pp and I’m laughing at people afraid of going outside or to school because of mass / school shootings. Do I like violence? No. I suspect you don’t like air pollution, and would rather the problem didn’t exist.

Seriously, who the hell laughs at other peoples issues and concerns? What is wrong with your mental state.

I do'nt know what is funny to PP but what's funny to me is the pride with which people say they are going outside, like they are superior for avoiding health warnings. They sound so ridiculous and I cannot believe they can't see it.

Just wait - most of them will quietly and sheepishly stay inside and take precautions like the rest of us. But they will use excuses like, “Everyone is being hysterical about the air, so we will just stay home to avoid them all”. These are the same people who mock others for going to get water and generators before storms and then grumble “Well, fire up the truck hon, because now we gotta go to get water before these ridiculous fearmongers buy it all up”.

Will likely get Uber eats for lunch and dinner so that we don’t use the stove or grille. Kids are bummed that their sports activities were cancelled so just going to spoil them by letting them have movie nights.

Enlighten me, why can't you use a stove? Is this the whole gas stove non sense? Because you allow it to pollute your home the other 364 days a year so is today that different as you sit indoors with windows shut, AC running and HEPA filters blasting I'm sure.

Gas stoves are bad, dumb dumb!

The Biden administration has the good sense to take action to ban them, finally.

It's really not that bad.

This is the wussification of America. Everyone is always looking for a reason for things to be difficult.

LOL "Be tough! Damage your lungs for no good reason!"

You guys are nuts. Nobody is getting damaged lungs from outdoor recess this week.

You all need to get treatment for your anxiety and hypochondria.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with being diagnosed with anxiety; my therapist says it’s extremely common and treatable.

And we can’t be “nuts” as you say, because now local government has closed many activities!
