Yep. Too bad the lululemon wearing white women suburban dems that Biden is courting agree with it. |
I think they could've opened the schools earlier, but the view does not "exempt" the government from anything. They have hopefully learned from it and have a better plan in place for the next pandemic. People were asleep at the wheel, and actually Trump's administration disbanded the team that dealt with pandemics. Individuals only care about individuals, whereas the government cares about the entire country. I think it was a hard call, and sure, in hindsight, they could've and should've responded better, but again, we all have the gift of hindsight and Monday morning quarterbacking. If you were in the position to make the tough decisions, you would have been heavily criticized no matter what decision you made. If you made the decision to just keep behaving like there was no pandemic, and your loved one died from covid, you would be singing a different tune about it. |
I'm claiming that FL did not report accurate numbers. But, if you read through my post, I did state that FL was not as hard hit as NY for a variety of reasons. Maybe read through the thread to understand context better. |

Well Americans certainly had more freedom during the pandemic! Germans just had to German. |
We don't need a meta analysis to demonstrate the whole thing was a cock up. A wrecking ball orchestrated by people who faced no consequences. Its a good thing their TSP accounts didn't tank. Maybe we should confiscate those accounts and distribute them to people who have no retirement savings because they were wiped out by insane policies that completely destroyed their ability to make a living for several months in a row. |
The consequences would be that the people who had a hand in making those policies could be voted out. Lockdown policies were largely controlled at the state/local level. If the constituents of that locality did not like those policies, then the local politician would've been voted out. |
