Who did they doxx?? I do remember one member rather publicly distancing themselves from the group but I don’t remember why. |
I'm trying to research Erin as I've never heard of her and everyone I ask has never heard of her except a few Key people. I consider myself pretty involved and informed in County-wide APS matters. Does she have any experience other than Key PTA and a diversity committee at DHMS? |
Her website's positions look like she's taking identical positions to APE. I saw her speak at the school board open comments and I thought she was an APE plant. Surprised to see she's now a candidate against Turner. |
Lots of people run once and run again and win. That's what Priddy did. I don't mind people running twice. Audrey Clement is a different matter.
I continue to think Miranda Turner is an excellent candidate, and I agree with PP above saying it's unfair that she is associated with the worst of APE. She has certainly put in the work though to have credible, broad, APS experience. I bet she's done more analysis, attending more school board meetings, and knows more about the system as a whole than any other candidate. |
Yup! How can anyone ever forget that! So dumb. APS musta been rolling their eyes so hard. It’s too bad tho. They did have some good advocacy going at the time. They lost credibility instead. |
Perhaps these people who are obsessed with the past can focus on the present. (And look a teacher who wanted to remain anonymous- shocking). “It’s going to happen again and again if this is all Arlington Public Schools is going to do,” the teacher told ARLnow, on the condition of anonymity, fearing retribution. “I don’t want to see this story or our students buried again.”

That was funny, but that wasn’t really “doxxing”. Anyway, they aren’t a lobbying group pushing a school board candidate. They are irrelevant. |
It would actually be brilliant if APE was running several candidates. Since they want to take over APS entirely and impose Youngkin on us. Priddy only won because Symone Walker was done dirty by another candidate. Erin apparently is a Fed too. It's just a question of when someone will report her too to whatever government authority is in charge of the Hatch Act. |
She works for the Library of Congress. The Hatch Act only applies to Exec Branch employees. |
It's actually more nuanced than that. But I'm sure OSC will be involved soon enough. Because this is Arlington and politics is politics no matter who you hurt. |
It does not apply to legislative branch employees. |
Okay, anonymous person. |
She also aggressively went after anyone who even slightly disagreed with her on that AEM Facebook group, so let’s not pretend like she was guaranteed the nom otherwise. You obviously enjoy making up your own facts anyway. |
Correct. The Hatch Act doesn’t apply, but the Leg Branch agencies each have implementing regulations that mirror it to a greater or lesser degree. She’s a Library of Congress employee, but not CRS, so I don’t know what the rules are for them. I know they’re pretty strict for CRS employees. |
I haven't been on AEM for a while and I just popped on there to look for a discussion around the budget released today.
I discovered so many fascinating details about APE. I always thought they were sus, but I didn't realize that the APE founder himself actually works for a Koch-funded think tank - Mercatus. History with Koch: https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2010/08/30/covert-operations APE founder: https://www.mercatus.org/staff-contacts This was all in a discussion around dark money in education policy. Fascinating! Dang! |
