Completely agree! However, Karl Frish isn’t the only one in our School Board who pushes this agenda forward. Recently, other members shared they have kids who are LGBTQ+ and showed how personally invested they are by approving the incorporation of sanctions into the 2022-2023 SRR to punish those students who don’t comply with the preferred gender pronoun use when addressing others. Mixing boys and girls during FLE lessons and Sex-Ed, beginning at a young age, is consistent with the radical gender indoctrination FCPS seems to prioritize in spite of parental pushback. Unfortunately, this issue shouldn’t replace valuable academic time, but it already does! Our kids shouldn’t be discussing trans issues at school without knowing exactly what it entails, but they already do! While we can’t control social media nor Hollywood, nor pop singers who glorify and show only one side of this issue, we still can continue to advocate for FCPS to focus our children’s time at school on academics. But we know they don’t and they won’t, so we should at least ensure that in the name of inclusion, they incorporate in their lessons stories from detransitioners and doctors from the US and abroad who have a different perspective on how to better support kids who deal with gender dysphoria, or those who are encouraged to believe that they do. If FCPS refuses to be inclusive of all perspectives and pushes only one, then we need to hear from them why. Why the intolerance towards other points of view. Until then, these discussions with our kids at school should be limited to those who are interested by incorporating an Opt- in option and should take place after school hours, just like many clubs do. |
Using the wrong pronoun should NOT be a punishable offense. There is a group of girls at our high school who somehow unfortunately ended up in the same 9th grade class. Every single one of them changes their names, genders, pronouns and identities weekly. Some change it daily. At least one periodically identifies as an inanimate object, using pronouns like it, or thing. The teacher started the year with a simple name game, telling the class they would repeat it until everyone learned and remembered everyone else's names and pronouns (rookie mistake) They are still doing that dang name game every single class. The girls get offended and do things like cry when someone gets their new name or new gender wrong. Even though they might have been someone or something else the prior class. They are basically holding the whole class hostage, and bullying all of the other kids to join in their ridiculous self absorbed game. Teacher does nothing, as the teacher is really into pronouns too. Making using the wrong pronouns a suspension offense just opens the door to crazy stuff like this, including the bullying of an entire class by a bunch of mean girls. |
Considering the amount of misinformation about men spew about menstruation I think that that alone should be a mandatory topic for everyone |
It already is a mandatory topic in fcps fle classes. If you were a fcps parent or student, you would know this. They just teach it in gender separated classes. There is no reason to make this unnecessary change in what is already a very comprehensive sex ed program. |
+1 There is zero need to combine kids into a coed class. |
Did you literally just say radical gender indoctrination???? Really? OMG. Go crawl back under your MAGA rock, the election is over, you lost the senate, cutie pie. |
You know, if you guys started talking to your children about their bodies, and GASP, SEX at an early age, you wouldn't be so freakishly worried about this stuff. Yes, OMG, my 6 year old knows what sex is and get this, she also knows the difference between her vulva and vagina. |
Modesty, and the embarrassment and mortification that goes along with it, is developmental. Maybe your 6 ear old hasn't gotten there yet. My kids were late-bloomers too - but they had gotten there by the time these lessons rolled around. |
Disagree. I grew up in a very open household that talked openly about this stuff. I would still feel uncomfortable talking about getting my period with my classmates. |
Sorry but this is just weird and developmemtaply inappropriate. |
+1 |
Did everyone make comments on the proposed FLE changes online? Hopefully everyone spoke up against this awful idea to combine genders. |
Nah, I'm in the same boat as PP. We are very open with our DC nd always have been. FLE is never a huge deal, for this reason. |
Whatever. |
Nope, you're the one with weird sexual hangups. |
