Are all Big 3 alumni this insufferable?

Truly cringeworthy. I can’t believe the paper even publishes such drivel.

Who turns down Yale? And who could even verify she’s telling the truth? It’s not like Yale has public records of who got it and who didn’t. I always assume people are lying when they name drop like this.

She didn't get in to Yale. The posts keep getting deleted but she used restrictive early action to Dartmouth.

So, she lied about getting into Yale. Nice.

I didn’t read it that she got into Yale.

She doesn’t explicitly say she got in. But it’s implied ‘I shoulda gone to Yale’

How do you all know she didn't get into Yale?? Why would she lie about it in a published article? Of course, she got into Yale, but decided to attend Dartmouth.

My guess is she got into Dartmouth early and so in her mind she could have gotten into Yale.

she got into dartmouth in Dec 2021. all the ivies release their restrictive early action results the same week and the kids post their results to instagram. My ncs kid and friends clearly remember this girl.
she was the only dartmouth admit and one of just a handful of NCS ivy admits that week.

You can't post about it online and then expect people won't remember it.

Only a handful of Ivy admits in all of NCS? When lots of parents are likely legacies…that’s not impressive.

They are saying a handful admitted in the early round. Only about 70-75 in the class and I think about a dozen ended up at ivies but lots of hooks.

Handful in December. Many more at regular decision.

Many more regular than early from a big 3 with plenty of hooks? Was the college couseling office giving bad advice? That is unusual and a bit worrisome tbh.

As I understand it, at the Big 3 there were a lot of deferrals from early decision/early action last year - and things tended to work out a little better in regular decision. That’s not bad college counseling - all these kids know to apply early - that’s just the reality in college admissions these days.

It’s rough out there, but it sure helps to be a legacy or to have a hook.

Unless this situation involved your own child from last year's senior class - in which case it is now a moot point now anyway - why is this "worrisome" to you? How does this affect your life in the least?

Clearly these posters don’t realize a world that they are clearly really not part of. You have to be aware to realize what she’s talking about and I think many are not aware. There is “wealthy” and then there is wealthy combined with elite clubs, summering at the same places, knowing all of the same people at all travel destinations. It can be polarizing even to “wealthy” people. That is what she is talking about. It’s a culture And you can be “rich” technically and still come in to this kind of Uber wealth world and realize wow it’s on a whole different level than you could’ve ever imagined. Clearly you people trashing her are not part of that world so you don’t even know what you’re missing out on.

What? And the poor Uber wealthy are stunned that are not on par with Bezos and Gates and Musk? Ok. But don't write about that publicly unless you want to get an earful to quit your belly aching.

If she was not raised to be aware of her privilege and have some humility, maybe she is getting a much needed lesson now

Anonymous wrote:So presumably she applied early to Dartmouth? Binding? Then how and when did she apply to Yale? Or did she apply to Yale early binding and then her parents got her into Dartmouth in January? If she’s telling the truth, it infers she knew she was a 100% lock shoo-in for Dartmouth, which allowed her to game admissions. What a victim.

What deserves an eye roll is your endless stream of speculation and ignorance. Applied SCEA to Yale and RD to Dartmouth. It’s not that difficult to understand.

BS. Where’s the proof? All the kids at these posh privates post the elite decisions on insta and Facebook.

She was admitted to Dartmouth in Dec 2021.

Knew it. Oh what a web we weave…
