As African Americans, we are a stigmatized group. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to say to me "you better act right in front of those white folks". Do you think a white mother ever said to a white kid "you better at right in front of those black folks?" It's not the same.

He has been unraveling in recent times quite quickly. It doesn't seem he has people around him with sufficient influence to whisk him away or to keep him quiet or to get him to accept help.

I haven't read or seen any connection online between his actions and being black. People know his psychiatric history, his love of attention and controversy, and his many recent stressors. Everyone seems a bit baffled as to what is going on with him.

NP. I strongly disagree. While he was enormously popular in hip hop world, he had little reach beyond. I think she actually expanded his reach and gave HIM legitimacy outside of the music world.

Kanye has a difficult case of bipolar disorder, and no team that can manage him.

People do not understand mental illness. They egg it on when it's entertaining, or discriminated against it. The only time people express some sentiment of wanting to help is when there's a mass shooting and all they want is avoid talking about gun control...

NP here. Wrong. A lot of the big designers didn't want to work with Kim, and it was Kanye that introduced her to all of his fashion designer friends. She even thanked him for it last year during a speech when she won some sort of fashion icon award.

As the family member of someone with bipolar, it’s really hard to read a lot of these posts. People just don’t get it.

I know people with bipolar and have other family members who suffer from mental illness. Kanye gives people with Bipolar disorder a bad name. Kanye is also a narcissist (look up Narcissistic Personality Disorder) and an abuser. He‘s full of hate. Does your family member start spouting hate speech against specific groups when they have an episode? If so, can you really say they never said showed any bigotry when on their meds? He’s a full blown controlling narcissist.
