Weirdo, says strange things, and acted like an elitist Ivy Leaguer who felt everyone else in the room was beneath him.

And yet, the university successfully conducted a $5 billion campaign under his leadership.

Maybe that was the Regents. Or maybe he got along with Stephen Ross.

My DC, who is a recent alum so Schlissel was the pres. during his whole time, is happy he's gone. He was not well liked by students.

PP was responding to a supposed account of how big donors perceived him. Primary responsibility of the UofM president is fundraising, and Victors for Michigan was a huge success. I don’t believe that regents, who are state elected officials, do any fundraising at all though they do attend fundraising events. Your son’s account may be accurate, but not responsive to the point about what big donors thought of him. Many university presidents are disliked by the students, it’s a not uncommon phenomenon.

It also shows that world class institutions can still thrive even with less than great leadership.

Those were two separate thoughts, the first in direct response to the post, the second just a general observation. Sorry, next time I will do separate posts so as not to raise your hackles.

But now it all makes sense knowing what a pig he was, he was looking the other way for his fellow pigs. Clearly he thought creeping on underlings was a perk of being at the top of the ivory tower.

Statue of Bo still stands.

The University of Michigan is paying $490M to victims of sexual abuse by a university doctor.

Wow! USC 890 million!

USC was actually 852,000,000, but still a huge number. Cost of living in California must be the reason since SC graduates rarely leave the state.

These are pretty staggering. In the case of USC, Michigan State, and Michigan, it impacted a lot of people over a long period of time.

And president Obama's daughter transferred out to perfect weather USC. Ouch. Rough few weeks for Wolverines. Enjoy the Zingerman's pastrami and the below zero wind chill.

I predict USC will enter the top 15 in the next couple of years. It has it all. While universities in flyover country will slip in popularity. Maybe it's not fair but trends are trends. Kids want big cities and/or warm weather.

USC has dropped to #27, behind Michigan and UVA. It has been headed in the wrong direction at USNWR for the past few years. Maybe it’s not fair, but trends are trend. Your predictions are not based in reality.

Coleman is stepping back in for the interim.

Hope she sobered up.
