Okay grandma. |
OMG yes I’m Asian and the people insisting Maddox was Pax burns me up. |
People spray tan their legs? I’m an old black lady, is this a thing? And Fwiw, and even though I’m and old black lady, I haven’t worn stockings in over 25 years. Maybe tights for fall fashion, but something like nude hose, nope. |
Please let me know how you feel about women wearing trousers these days? |
Lol! Yes believe it or not there is spray tan just for legs in different shades. I don’t think a 14 year old needs to worry about that though. |
Yep. She’s still a very young teen. She doesn’t need to look air brushed. |
The first time I read this I felt angry. How dare you want to try to impose your very out-dated and just plain wrong standards of false perfection on someone else’s child? Shiloh looked happy, appropriate, and comfortable— just what most of us would want for our children. I read your words again, and I felt sad. Maybe some long-ago intern’s flip and misogynistic words in the pages of a no-longer published magazine made you feel less-than: made you doubt that your uncovered legs were beautiful and strong, made you think that spraying your natural skin with noxious colored paint was somehow necessary for you to be acceptable, or made you believe that you were not Enough if you were allowed to publicly enjoy your own body or even your own version of joy. Often, people who use words like “class” aspire more to visions from crumpled magazines than to values like kindness, independence and growth. The only “miss” here, PP, is yours. Perhaps we all could learn something about how to appreciate ourselves from these images of Shiloh. |
If your kid wears a formal dress with naked legs, that’s fine. If you are a celeb walking the red carpet with photogs, you’d think you would put your best foot forward—for yourself and your kid. There are millions of dcum fashion threads re: bare legs. For some, it’s generational. For others, it’s dependent on the formality of the dress and the shoe style. For some of us, we were raised by women who adhered to certain constructs. FWIW, “class” doesn’t equate to money for me. Go read one of the many fashion threads on east coast money/old money and you’ll see that lots of people aspire to dress classy regardless of their income. Bottom line: very few people have perfect legs, and tights/stockings typically improve the overall look. |
And on the other side is what I like to call "slob privilege" - which means if you're rich enough, pretty enough, confident enough, powerful enough, then to heck with what you think of someone's overall look. It looks good because I am the one wearing it. I like when teens (or anyone!) feel good enough about themselves to not give a rat's patootie if you think their legs could use some hose. Also not wearing stockings gives a more casual, laid back vibe, which makes it cooler. Nylons are try-hard. |
That's the thinking of a nobody who wants to make an impression. These people are not you. They play by their own rules. |
That isn’t true for late Millenials and Gen Y. You are showing your age. |
And my Gen Z kid doesn't even shave her legs! Who cares! |
| None of the white people in this family is attractive. Are you guys all blind or just blinded by money and fame? |
So who IS attractive? Oh, wait - nevermind...we already know you didn't mean Maddox or Pax
|
Maddox and Pax are both quite attractive. |
