ECNL moving to school year not calendar

The rules will come out in August / September. There's always a chance of the rules being what you suggest.

Realistically allowing a few to play down early will screw up playoffs and screw over all the rest of the players that might want that position. So I conclude that its probably what ECNL will do. Bonus points if there is some way a coach or director can sell the roster spots to the highest bidders.

Sock puppet 2: Oh yeah hey, what a great idea.

Normal people: Please, please stop, it's not going to happen single poster guy.

Sock puppet choir: What! Everybody's talking about how great SY+30 would be! All of us real posters are so mad you think there's only one of us.

You seem to think that you're some kind of forum police telling everyone what to think.

Sorry, the more you fight against SY+30 or even SY+60 the better it seems.
No, the more you push a convoluted waiver idea to pick winners at the expense of every other player while forcing clubs to spend effort policing, the more it sounds like a political carve out lobbying campaign for the selfish.

It's really not that hard. Registration systems ask for birth year and grade. Everyone already submits a birth certificate. Let parents just say the grade. If every parent in that 1 or 2 month range lies SOO what. If your caught having lied your kid gets banned, easy peasy. It might be worth the risk for some but those people will find a way to cheat anyway.

100% also once players make it to ECNL level rosters are public. Cheat all you want you wont be able to hide from the busy body moms with nothing better to do than confirm player grade in school. Especially if it gives their kid a win.

Biobanding players will disagree with you. They want to play down to have a 20-month advantage

OMG seriously you are the only one repeatedly trying to claim it's only one person. The rest of us are having a conversation.

If there end up being league rules that give USCS teams the flexibility of shifting a limited number Q3/4s around, it's not that big of a deal. Having a 17 month waiting period for these rules to go into effect was dumb anyway.

If they are a good player they will still be a good player. Soccer will still be a pay to play sport. Clubs will still get you to believe your kid is better than reality. You will still spend a lot of time and money on leagues and private training. Club politics will still exist. USMNT will still suck. Eventually you will find something else to complain about. This is not revolutionary stuff. We've had SY soccer before. We know how this story goes.

If your kid was born in August what we're discussing most certany can affect them.

Affect them? Sure. They might have slightly different teammates or coaches. Alter the course of their life or how far they go in soccer? Not likely.

I agree with the PP, pretty clearly the same guy.

They would have to also list where the player lived when they entered school so people could see if the kids were held back a grade. With 8-1 the new cutoff, this moronic exceptions discussion which had a ridiculously limited basis to begin with is over.

If believing in imaginary things helps you carry on, but do us all a favor and stop repeating your made up claim every time you hear a view point you don't understand.
