Good thread!
Pizza - Vace Chinese - Meiwah French fries - The Palm Mexican - Tia queta Italian - Olazzo Donuts - krispy creme Tapas - still think Jaleo is great although many good littler places Mussels - anything in the Black's family Ice cream - have not yet found anything close to the mom and pop homemade ice cream shops of Boston/MA Cupcakes - refuse to answer o the grounds they are too trendy - plus Ihave not met a cupcake I didn't enjoy |
Good picks... but really, like I'm gonna go to the Palm to get some fries? Best fries in my opinion are at the Amsterdam Falafel Shop in Adams Morgan. They are double fried like the kind you find in Europe and they even have various types of mayo for dipping. Damn good falafel too!

| Ice Cream -- Max's Best in Glover Park and Tropical on 16th and Georgia. |
| Come on, the best fries are from Five Guys... |
|
Best Chinese - Joe's Noodle House
Best Burger - BGR or Ray's Best crab - Bethesda Crab House Best seafood - Kinkead's |
|
Best fries five guys...yuck. Best Chinese meiwah...no way. But you are entitled to your opinion.
Best Thai...Mai Thai old town |
| Honestly, I find it difficult to get the "best of" anything in the DC area. Best pizza is in New Haven, CT; best lobster is in Maine; for crabs we go to the Eastern Shore; haven't found any decent Chinese or Thai around here, unless my Chinese friend is cooking; impossible to find good Mexican food. Ravi Kebab has Pakastani food, but I haven't found good Indian, unless you count Rasika and I have no idea why people lie Five Guys. I can't stomach that much grease. |

Italian - Dino Donuts - Tabard Inn @ brunch Tapas - Zaytinya Mussels - Brasserie Beck Ice cream - Ugh, can't think of a good place Cupcakes - Cupcakes! in Vienna Thai - Rabieng or Dunagrat's Best beer selection - ChurchKey |
| Best Mexican is Guapo's |

Best Bread Pudding, the little fountain cafe in Adams Morgan, the rest of the food ranges from ho-hum to OK, but that bread pudding is the best dessert I have ever had. Ever.
Best Pizza, 2 Amys |

I admit that the ice cream situation in DC is sad but I am happy to say that there is good ice cream at York Castle-- a place up Rockville Pike (where it's actually Hungerford Drive), next to where Cameron's Seafood is now (which is different from the place in Silver Spring).
|
| All you PPs who claim the ice cream situation in DC is sad, I dare you to try Max's Best and especially Tropical. (I already posted them.) They both make their own. Tropical has Guinness ice cream. Mmmm.... |
| I live in walking distance of tropical ice cream (formerly York castle) on Georgia, and honestly, I think it's awful. I would almost rather go to coldstone than walk to tropical, and that's saying alit because I think coldstone is the worst. |
?? It's been Tropical for at least ten years. It's not a chain. It's owned by a Jamaican (I think) woman. Guiness ice cream is the best.... |
