The Kane Show Discussion Thread

John and the station’s statement threw me for a loop. If Kane was being fired for something bad (ie harassment, abuse, etc) they would not be so complimentary in their statements while making a point to say he’s still employed, just not on the show.

You may have noticed that there was a voice missing on the show this morning. Although still part of the iHeart family, starting today Kane will no longer appear on the show. We want to thank him for his mentorship and his contributions over the last 14 years. The show continues on with John, Riley & Rose with all the great stuff we know you enjoy and some new stuff coming soon.

What was Danni’s comment?

I thought Danni was on the road to healing, but she's clearly still a bitter, hot mess willing to latch on to drama for social media fodder. She needs to quit exploiting this drama for her own gain and leave it in the past. But true to her victim persona, she'll keep going on and on about the "abuse" she suffered. And I say this as not a fan of Kane.

I think they're just doing damage control by thanking him. Maybe he just totally lost his mind or something.

She is apparently an elementary school teacher now too.

Yeah we get it, you said that like three times now.

I feel like we would’ve heard about an arrest by now if it happened.

Pure speculation- but has Coronavirus backed up courts and court records ?

This was my first thought, it’s damage control. They’re gonna do anything and everything to deflect from this negatively impacting the station’s image. The more drama they attract the worse it would be for them. He was also terminated from his weekend show which is not iheart, which raises a red flag. I’d bet still being part of the family means he’s being paid a few more months in severance or whatever. So technically he’s still employed by them, like Danninwas for a minute too.

Danni posted a bunch of crying laughing emojis and “and for the love of God acknowledge mrerickv”.. I wonder if she’s embarrassed since she hyped up Kane’s departure as this big thing but it’s being handled like a traditional/normal departure from radio. It must bother her that he’s getting a kind/complimentary goodbye (and apparently still employed). Maybe someone gave her bad info?

Uh this is the first time I’ve posted this but imagine having her as your kid’s teacher.

Technically his weekend show was iHeart since iHeart owns Premiere Networks.

My parent is a doctor and is batsh$% crazy in their personal life but extremely successful and respected professionally. Plenty of people have a fine work life and an effed up personal life.

It has. Clerk's office staff are on a rotating schedule and the same with State's Attorneys to limit the number of staff in the courthouses. They are only conducting emergency type hearings.

Probably true. Remember when Matt Lauer was fired - NBC made it clear HE WAS FIRED. It’s to protect them from suits, they want to look like they first heard of something and jumped on it and aren’t protecting a deviant. If Kane was fired for all of these misdeeds, it would be very odd for iHeart to cover it up the way they have.
