Neither her mother or two younger brothers would qualify for this status. You are talking about a woman who had been abused by her crack addicted husband and was living in poverty with her three children. A woman who had flown several times with Rhianna to the USA to see her record her demo and negotiate a deal to be signed to Evan Rogers publishing label. And then later to be signed by the biggest record labels for R&B music at the time, Def Jam. She saw an opportunity for her daughter to escape her circumstances and have a real chance at pursuing her dream.
