| I went today. I think the store is amazing but it as so busy like a zoo |
| I absolutely hate the underground parking and that could do it for me. I might have to drive up to Kentlands. |
|
I did not know they had a new store.
I go to the Congressional Plaza WF on Rockville Pike and the one in downtown Silver Spring and am always impressed by their service. Employees ask me if I need help in the aisles, offer to carry my bags to the car at checkout, etc... |
| Where in Rockville? |
| Is the one that is supposed to be across from White Flint Mall now open? |
| Yes, across from White Flint. Our nanny was there today. She echoes the zoo comment. |
|
Maybe it was a zoo today because it was opening day. I think they had events scheduled.
Didn't realize it's an underground garage. I am SO bummed that they left Congressional Plaza. Anyone know what's coming there now? I used to go to CP once a week with DD. Sometimes specifically for WF. |
| What!!!! I didn't know Whole Foods moved! I haven't been for a long time but still. |
The Congressional store just closed this past Sunday. Now, THAT was definitely a zoo! Everything was 50% off. |

Yes, the Congressional Plaza store is closed and a "Fresh Market" is scheduled to go in in its place. Haven't been to the new WF at North Bethesda Marketplace, but I read that it is almost twice the size of the old store. I too think I will not like the underground parking though.
Does anyone know anything about The Fresh Market? http://www.thefreshmarket.com/index.html I think there's one in Vienna. Is it kind of like a small version of Harris Teeter? |
| The new store is absolutely AMAZING. I went this afternoon (yes, Zoo, but Harris Teeter North Bethesda was too in its opening week, and it's fine now) - the prepared food was fabulous - tried the arepas which were great, and relatively cheap, and filling. They had an ice cream bar, a coffee bar, a pasta bar, a huge bakery, a new "cooking" area with a chef on call to answer questions, a grinding area to grind stuff (not my thing, but some people are totally into it), lots of staples in bulk (think rice, grain, beans) beautiful fruit. And even with the fact that it was a zoo, checkout was amazingly quick and the entire staff was cheerful and helpful. |
| If you are shopping in Rockville, I highly recommend MOM's Organic Market on Nicholson. They have 100% organic produce and their prices are a lot less than Whole Foods. I went to WF this weekend just to check it out and found it to be a zoo-ish ripoff. |
| I haven't been to the new Whole Foods, but can't wait to see it! Also, I was so hoping that MOM's would move to the old Congressional location. I like MOM's, but hate their current Rockville location. The Fresh Market looks lame. |
You just had to get that North Bethesda reference in there, didn't you. |
| GIve it time to have people try it out and then it won't be so crazy. It sounds like the WF in Friendship Heights when it opened about a year ago. |
