Larry and Sergey went to schools now in the Big 10 for undergrad (Michigan and Maryland and not Stanford or the Ivy League).
I think we should start referring to other schools based on athletic conference first. Forget saying your kid is looking at Stanford or Georgetown and say they are looking primarily at the Pac 12 and Big East.

I project that people on both sides of this Supreme Court issue are going to be disappointed by how things look in practice in 2 years.

You have no answers. Admissions is race blind.

Asians are being used by White Supremacists as an imaginary group being discriminated against. White prep school kids face the same competition as Asians students… but why highlight Asians, it’s political.

What is your evidence for this?

Do you even know who brought this before the supreme court?

I despise how important college sports is.

This is already the case with SLACs. It’s common to hear people say they are looking at NESCAC schools.

I despise people who don't understand that colleges are first and foremost a business, and that athletics and alumni donations are an important source of revenue.

Ivy is a sports league

So when people refer to "Ivy League" they are only referring to sports?

No?

You mean words and phrases have meanings we give them, both formal and vernacular?

Like "pedantic?"

“Despise” is a strong word to use. Just because you don’t enjoy sports doesn’t mean other people can’t or shouldn’t.

It always seems that people who aren’t into athletics themselves “hate” athletics and want to take athletics out of schools.

They are referring to a group of schools in a certain athletic conference.

Knowing the origin of words is part of being educated.

The hate is deeply rooted in jealousy

Knowing what words mean to the people who use them is part of not being pedantic.
