What do you wear after work at home?

Anonymous
I am trying not to look so dowdy these days. I get home from work at 630 and am looking for something comfortable and practical to wear when I get home before bed.

I should mention I am 165lbs -- so overweight. I am also 40s.

I have 3 kids under 6.

So I don't want something high maintenace, but don't want to keep wearing PJs or sweat pants.

TIA

Victorias secret is awesome. They have really cute PJ sets for the grown ups.

Oh, I am so there with you. The night this week where it was really warm (Monday? Tues?), we had some excitement on our block and a neighbor came over to spill the dirt. And I was wearing old, too tight gym shorts, a t shirt, and no bra. Yikes. I realized as I was standing on the front step, neighbors walking by, I need to get some better around-the-house clothing options, and wear them, always. So I second OP's plea!

To answer your original question: old disgusting sweats and threadbare sorority t-shirts (bleach stains and holes optional) and grandma-ish slippers. I'm not proud of this, just hoping that I'm not the only one. I do have a few pairs of cuter sweats but I save those for walking the dog or when we're staying at someone else's house.

Wife beater tank tops in various shades and satin boxers. I really try to work it most evenings when DH comes home. I work from home though and grub around in my big man sweat pants during the day.

I wear yoga pants and tank tops/fitted cotton shirts. I can't stand unfitted t-shirts, they make me feel like a lumpy box.

Weird pjs or old lady nightgowns.

I second the yoga pants and fitted t shirts. It is very comfortable, yet very presentable and put together in case I need to make an errand run, or someone comes over uninvited.

sweat pants/yoga pants and a t shirt.

Sweats or yoga pants and a tshirt. My husband has started mocking me for loungewear, but after a day of heels, all I want is an elastic waistband.

I do a lot of the above, but some days - SOME days - I actually pull on a comfy old pair of jeans. They are threadbare, with a waist that is low but not too low, and I always wear them with a long tank top. That way I can pull a sweater/fleece/long-sleeved T over the top if it's chilly. And then there are the crocs....ahhhh....

I don't get this. If you're in for the night, what does it matter?
